The Camper Thread

We're wimping out again tonight. Soggy and flooding ain't enough fun. We should trade setups, I need a hard top and you'd be just fine with a tent.

We ended up having to come in last night. Nasty storms last night and tonight.

Yeah. We met up with @shady in marquette yesterday and then trucked back home for bedtime. Didn't even get close before more hard rain hit. He woke up this morning surrounded by water and had to wade back to his truck. I'm pretty happy with our decision this time.

Wow, that's a lot of rain.

Yeah. I've had standing water in my yard most of the days since May 1st. I have some spots where grass has refused to grow. Ready to be done with this, it's holding my trucks hostage in the soggy barn.

Oh yeah, the water pools in there, too. Both trucks are sitting in water. :doah:

That is a serious amount of matching right there. Nearly looks like the same truck! :eek1:

Thanks!!

yeah, I have 3 white Dodge diesels :D
the dually, the 4x4, and a 2wd; then also a gray short bed 4x4 that everyone tells me they can't believe I bought it cause it isn't white. I have thought about having it wrapped. :D same people tell me I should trade them all in on a new truck and I ask why? these are all paid for, I don't have as many electronics and don't have to deal with DEF. plus with them all being 24V when something goes wrong with one, I know what it is when it happens to another.

Nice setup for sure. Do you run airbags?

no air bags; both of them have camping and tow packages on them. since I got the dually a few years ago I almost exclusively run the camper in it.
as a sidebar, I used to be single since '93. I got married again in 2014. I had the camper while I was single. once I got married I decided to upgrade.
looked at motorhomes: way out of my price range; so we went and looked at new slide in campers: Holy Crap!! the one we liked was 35k and was middle of the road; not top of the line. I can't believe what this things cost new.
so now I am at a crossroads; deciding on whether to update and fix up my camper or get a bumper pull. I still have a couple of Blazers but usually wheel a buggy now and with a bumper pull I need a place to put the rig; so I bought this

or......
I have less than 4 years until I retire. another thing I have thought about is putting the slide in camper on the big truck, then I might be able to put the buggy behind it and pull the JK so I could go and travel to wheel. like go to CA all summer long.
set up camp, have the buggy to wheel and the JK to run to town for supplies or supper or whatever.

and yes I know, I am pretty wishy washy; I tend to over-analyze all options.
