So the rigid insulation was a total win! The night before last we stayed in a field for an Enduro event I raced yesterday. Temps were mid 40s but dropped to 32 by morning. There was no condensation on the ceiling other than two three inch strips where I did not install bc I ran out of material. It was soaked in these spots and dripping. I'll get some more and glue it up there but other wise I'm happy!

Nice, it's much better when it doesn't rain inside the camper haha.

Noticed the kawasaki bike, looks similar to the 95 KLX 650r I used to ride. By far my favorite bike and absolutely insane to ride with how the front came up anytime you breathed on the throttle hahaha.

Yea that is the revered kdx 200. It's an '89 and one of the best woods bikes ever made.

I'm super excited to have a decent sized camper to use now. Picked it up about a week ago in Iowa. It's a '96 Sportsmaster. Although, it needs some work before we can actually travel with it. The front 6-7' of floor and joists need replaced and the awning came open and blew off while driving home on the interstate. But everything seems to work, including the fridge and AC.

Had some big changes recently. During that winter storm that hit here in mid february the toy hauler did surprisingly well for temps down to -2F. Reliable power through the solar, the auxiliary heater kept it in the 60'sF (in the main area, closed off the bedroom/bathroom) which considering it didn't have the best insulation is impressive. But, the storm killed off one of the trees that it was parked next to and it fell onto the trailer. Destroyed the awning and made a soft spot on the roof so insurance totaled it out.

Replacement is a 2020 Jayco Eagle 5th wheel. Little shorter at 29ft vs 34ft but roughly equals out due to the slides. When I moved the solar over found out that the original solar panel wiring wasn't the best. Where it had peaked out at 35 amps before, it's now cranking out 45 amps (maxed out equipment).

Going to get a motorcycle rack to put in the receiver hitch on the camper. Looks like the hitch is integrated into the frame, not a thin bumper like other models have.

Yes it is. Smoother ride for both the truck and trailer. I also have the Cody Cushion air ride hitch for the truck which helps as well but currently can't use it with this trailer because of height problems. Cody Cushion raises the ball almost 6 inches.

Fixing that problem with the new bed on the truck by mounting the hitch to the truck frame.

Have you had any problems w/ that goosebox? Seems like a no-brainer to not have your bed full of 5th wheel.

Only have a few hundred miles on the goosebox so limited experience with it. No issues, notably smoother when towing over railroad tracks, rough roads, and no bouncing to the truck or trailer. Not as easy to see where the coupler is when hooking up but that's an easy learning curve.

Cody cushion I have a few thousand miles of experience with. Like the goosebox it's a notably smoother ride for both the truck and trailer, visually it's easier to see. 2 problems with this hitch. 1. Don't shift quick if you have a manual transmission. This is the main complaint from the hitch and unique to those with a manual transmission vehicle because you can force the hitch to extend fully and make a quick jerk, I've done this twice with the flatbed trailer attached. 2. Mine is a real bitch to remove from the B&W turnover ball receiver, takes about 20 minutes working it out with the 5ft prybar. Does not want to come out hahaha.

Agreed a gooseneck is nice with the limited space occupied by the hitch in the bed and articulation. My driveway (graveled after this picture) is steep enough a traditional 5th wheel hitch would be a concern.

I really like my B&W Companion fifth wheel hitch. It is big in the bed but when I want it out I can unpin it and take it out in two pieces by hand. My current truck came with a Husky fifth wheel which I don't like since it has no side to side flex like the Companion. Probably gonna run it til I go flatbed unless I find a good deal on a B&W turnover hitch. Your new trailer looks nice.

Thanks, it has a nicer interior than the old toyhauler had. Even though it has 2 heaters built in (usual hvac and the electric fire place) I'm going to mount the auxiliary propane heater that was in the toyhauler. Just a far more capable heater that runs silent. Losing the garage sucks but can be worked around with my toys (kayak, motorcycle, bike). Have some modifications coming up for the shower and the outdoor kitchen.

I really like how fast/easy it is to hook up a 5th wheel hitch
