The Crewbicon

Very nice work, the bed, the bumper, the whole rig looks awesome :waytogo:

sweet

love the service bed and the direction you are going . The cc and diesel are a good combo for a swiss army knife of offroading . I think my cc is about 7,500lb loaded with fuel, beer, and people . The truck is heavy but is able to do about anything i need it to .

Love your truck, I almost built a bed like yours, can you give me any advice since you have been wheeling a crew cab, what would you do different ?

Saw a service bed for sale cheap the other day but my plans for my crew are very similar just a bit more modular than a service bed will allow.

As far as the doubler goes I bought D&D machines doubler. His is the least expensive but its longer than most. Shouldn't be a problem for you.

Cool stuff man my crew will almost have the same drivetrain except I am gonna use a hydro clutch 465

Thanks for the info, do you have a build thread or some pics posted ?

I need some help here, I'm getting ready to build the spare tire mount, do I build a swing out mount or do I build a drop down mount working with the clevis mounts ?

It will sit further out of the bed than this.

A swing-out mount would make it easier to get to stuff in the bed, but a drop down carrier could possibly make it easier to get the spare tire onto the ground. Also you could use it as a step. I'm not sure which style would be easier to access on the trail.

I vote for a swing-out tire holder.

I've always wanted to make a combination swing-out/swing-down spare tire carrier. It would be a little tricky to get it to look and function right, and may cause the spare to sit a bit higher, but would be the best of both designs.

I would go swing out. It seems like a drop down carrier would be in the way when you're trying to work out of the back of the truck. It would serve as a step though, never considered that.

You've probably got a solid enough place to mount a swing out right off the back of the bed, keeping it off the bumper all together

Can't find any pics of my doubler. Went through the first 4 pages of my build thread. I put it in in one night. I tend to not take alot of pics when I am working on stuff.

Its a little longer than most but its also cheaper. I built my own shifters. Realized I needed em and had 20 bucks to spend so they kind of need to be redone :D. I have never had an issue with the doubler at all. He can weld it on clocked different. Its all steel. I think I would have rather had a clockable one but Duffys stuff has worked awesome for me.

So how about a swing up spare tire carrier. You could use some heavy duty gas struts to help you swing it up. shouldn't really be putting anything to tall in there.

Just an idea

Look up kellyjohns build... might give you an idea for a tire carrier. As I remember, it is a swing and a drop down carrier... pretty slick.

Now that is different, I have never seen that before.

I'm thinking swing out with a crane above.
