The Cummins K30

I built this truck to work and I tow with it quite often. Yesterday I pulled the biggest, heaviest load yet.....and it was on a bumper trailer. Luckily I wasn't going too far. I hauled an old vacuum forming machine to scrap and crossed the scale at 28k!!!!!! The truck pulled the weight fine other than the rear suspension was 1/2' off the bump stops.

I was busy when you sent me that pic and forgot about it. Holy **** man!! Time for some bags, come on you do it for a living!!

I have made a few changes to the truck since I last updated this thread.

I installed a Denny T stage 2 fuel pin and a 3200 rpm governor spring. I also took the full fuel screw in, I think its in about 8 1/2 turns now :D talk about a completely different truck now and is really pretty quick. I now peak at about 40 lbs of boost and have full fuel all the way through the rpm range. I can blow the tires off in 2nd gear and get all 4 of the rear tires talking in 3rd gear now!!! It still has stock injectors and it hasn't been on a dyno but the guy that helped me tune it estimates it to be around 280 hp and 650 lb ft of torque

The getrag and stock clutch aren't too fond of the new power though, so I spent the money on a new South Bend Clutch. I went with the organic/feramic clutch capable of holding 450 hp and 950 ft lbs. I bought an NV4500 that needed a rebuild. It had lost 5th gear so I rebuilt the whole trans, replaced the mainshaft and 5th gear with updated units, and now its sitting on the bench waiting to be installed. I hope to get to it next week

I have a dodge 4500 to put in it. I also got the adapter Bell housing from Advance Adapters so I dont have to change the starter or slave cylinder around either.

I have only made 40lbs of boost a couple times. I did bark the turbo on one of those occasions though. Twin turbos are hopefully in the near future

I could have used stock dodge parts from a 94-newer ram, but by the time I would have paid for all of the stock parts it would have been more expensive

I did the same, used the AA kit with 1st gen factory adapter plate for my nv4500. Another benefit beyond retaining your current starter,plate..etc. is maintaining the additional 1" of clearance between the Bellhousing and firewall. The factory 2nd gen parts push the bellhousing/tranny back an additional 1" or 1.25".
