The Green Grendel

I was referring to the last picture. Your drivers side rear is a totally different rim.

Decided to try my hand at towing the little trailer today. This thing was more stable than I had expected. Went to the dump and weighed in at 8700 lbs full, 7700 lbs empty. Similar numbers to what Big Blue would weigh (which surprised me).

On the road, the brake imbalance and the locker steering were both less noticeable. Wasn't expecting it to be more stable with the trailer, but I guess it was. The gear splits in the NV4500 leave a lot to be desired in this non-turbo rig.

Despite trying to creep gently out of my flooded pasture, I managed to dig a 7" deep rut in my low spot while pulling out the trailer. :doah:

It gave me a chance to verify that, while both of the back wheels turn, only one front wheel at a time spins. So the jury is still out on Positraction. I need a better way to test it.

A gov bomb (gasp) actually does quite well in the front. It's easy on the steering and it's cheaper than many alternatives. Plus people give them away because on the rear 10b it sucks. Front though not so bad.

Really... does a gov lock from a rear 10b just fit into a front 10 bolt diff? I never use my 4wd unless it's slow going..

I thought the contents of the pumpkin were the same as long as you had the correct spline count.
That's my understanding as well. In fact, I transplanted a 28 spline Auburn LSD from a rear 10B to a front. Everything worked, but it's no Detroit.
