Trip report from Moab, truck did awesome. The only thing that really held me back on the trail was tire size and associated lack of clearance under the differentials. Otherwise traction was great. No broken parts to report, other than some damage to the fender flares because my small tires couldn't scale some rocks and I had to squeeze past.
Which brings up a decision I have to make, do I wheel this aggressively, or buy another ride? I love the way this thing looks, and I'd really like to keep the paint finish looking nice, but I also love rock crawling. I think I'll keep this as the camping rig/lighter duty trails rig, and get something like a 2 door Tahoe or Yukon and make it a crawler. That way I can beat on it and not be mad at myself for doing so.
Things I need to fix now:
The stereo quit producing sound during the trail ride, not sure why.
I really need to redo my front driveshaft, I'm getting tired of the vibrations from the bad angles from the simple 2 joint shaft. I'm on the lookout for a flange output for the front of my 241 t-case, if anyone has one, I'm interested.
The cheap Rough Country EZ Rides on the front are sagging unevenly, so I really need to swap them side to side so my truck isn't listing going down the road. Waste of my damn money, those were. I have other things to do first, but I really want to get some custom Alcan springs front and rear. It's only money...
