The headache build..

I think that set-up was around $3150.
And we going to have to change the output on the transmission, fab a new crossmember, and have new driveline made.

Length change, the splines end on our current output shaft where the new shaft supposed to start. We couldn't cut it down if we wanted to. A wish list was to take the transmission to Mike's transmission to get it inspected. Looks like it is a must now.

Gotcha. I was wondering if the SCS box required some crazy bigger shaft / spline. Can't wait to see video of it in action! :burnout:

Update on the transmission, we took it last Monday to Mike's Transmissions to get it freshened up and the output shaft changed. I am waiting for a hydraulic conversion for my tubing bender from Swag offroad to bend the new crossmember.

Another change we are doing is suspension work. From advice from someone who does dirt drags, he suggests we move the shackles to the front on the front end. We bought some stuff are in the process of the modification. We got the rear mounts tacked in place. The axle is parallel to the rear, but when we cross measure it, it turns out it is not square. Damn it. 20200225_194440.jpg 20200225_194308.jpg 20200225_194255.jpg

On the tubing bender, I bought the Swag billet hydraulic conversion for a Pro-tool 105. Problem is my is tubing bender is 104 I bought during the mid Nineties. It is about 24 to 25 years old. I only bent a few bumper with the bender then loaned it out to friends who have bent far more stuff then I did.

Anyway, it turn out it is shorter than what the conversion is meant for. No problem, I just got to make some spacers. Another problem is the stand. It was made by one of the friends who borrowed the bender. He welded the nuts to mounting plate. The problem is on the billet conversion, one of mounting point is supposed to pivot. It can't pivot with the nut welded. I got to figure out how to solve that problem. 20200225_183319.jpg 20200225_183209.jpg 20200225_182953.jpg

20200226_162719.jpg 20200226_163023.jpg I think I have plan.
Swag Off-road includes a new mount with their billet kit. I don't really want to permanently mount it to this stand since I want to make a mobile stand later.
So my plan is to drill the bottom plate of the tube bender then use a bolt in the newly drilled hole with the new mount as spacer. Assemble the rest as per instructions.

Not much of update tonight. I have things to do, but I squeezed some time working on the bender. Made a short spacer out of scrap to go along the long spacer. I only using the one long bolt to hold everything all together. Need to buy some hardware since some is welded to the stand. Other than needing to make another spacer, it is coming together. 20200227_173902.jpg

Where did the week go?
Anyway, I made a spacer for the movable arms out of a poly bushing inner sleeve. I drilled a .5" hole .550" away from the factory hole on the movable arms to get the bender to close all the way. I could of moved the ram in billet sleeve but the ram wouldn't be clamped all the way. I may still have to adjust it but it is a lot better.
All I have left is to drill out the pin hole on the knob for the ram return, and install it.

I'm assuming those drop boxes oil fine mounted at an angle. I've always just seen them straight down in the big ass mega trucks that need that much drop.

This is a "straight though" transfer case. The rear output is inline with the transmission just like factory transfer case. I just have clocked down a bit. I could have had it clocked down or up.
A drop down transfer case would have the rear output inline with the front output like a dana 20. The drop down usually is "drop down".

My nephew created another YouTube account and posted some videos.
I believe this is the test pass after the nitrous backfire.

dam dude, thats cool as hell, exciting stuff going on here!
