A long term project is starting to shape up.
When I got the blazer going years ago, I kind of " threw it together" at the end to go racing. A lot of the small projects that needed to be done got done and if something could be substituted, it was.
Case in point was the steering column.
If fact, I changed it during the off season a few years ago.
The plans keep changing on this blazer. I first started with tilt column then I put in a gutted non tilt column with a Jegs quick release hub and a ugly old steering wheel I got for free.
Not what I really wanted but it was what I was willing to spend (and afford).
I could of gotten a kit, but I wanted it done a certain way. First piece I picked up was some aluminum tubing from the scrap bin at work, then a quick release spline end from Jegs. Then a steering wheel spacer. Picked up another spline end for the other end for a steering u-joint, .75" 4130 tubing for the shaft, and a Joe's racing products aluminum steering wheel was the last piece picked up.

Only thing reused was the quick release hub.

Now to figure out how to install it in the blazer.
