The headache build..

This frame is junk. It was before the jump, now it is worse. I've already bought a replacement frame in Feb, but I not going to replace the frame till a later date. There is a lot plans to do stuff with the blazer for the summer, so tearing it down is not feasible. I’m just going to have to bear with it for a while.

Holy smokes, what's going on with the black jeep that flashed across the screen in the last vid?

its fast..... it has a 327 sbc with a big solid cam and high compression. its also on NOS, only weighs about 3000lbs soaking wet and has a set of 20in paddles.

JDN,

So I couldn't quite make out the conversation in those engine dyno videos, but I'm guessing that pulls #2 and #3 were with a heavy shot of N02? The engine sounded smooth up to about 6000RPM, and then when the nitrous hit the RPMs almost seemed to jump around a bit (like the load on the dyno couldn't hold it steady)??? :dunno:

What brand of headers are those (& specs)? I like the "over the frame" concept... could be a lot easier for routing and easier access to plugs too! I'm looking for a header with 2" primaries and either a 30" or 36" primary length for my 502BBC, but I'm not having much luck finding stuff that is actually designed for a 4WD truck application. Any ideas??

Hearing a BBC spinning up to 6500 - 7000RPM makes me feel all tingly... :D

Quite the opposite, for small (175hp 79 jet to 225hp 82 jet) shots the motor GAINED over 250hp and 300hp.:eek1: Before the nitrous pulls, we retarded the timing to 30deg advance and made a pull. The motor on retarded timing made 650HP.

If we weren't worry about pushing the crank though the 2 bolt mains in the dyno room, It is very possible the motor could make over 1000HP. My engine builder didn't want to blow up the motor on the dyno and wanted me to play with the motor for a while before we really lean on it. We shot the nitrous at 6000RPM on the dyno.
The over achieving gain is mostly the camshaft. It was designed by a nitrous guru, but it kills power on the motor if you can believe that.

The headers came from the Fabshop. The guy mostly does puller type headers but he can make the headers for drag racing. He has a jig for pickups!
The header he made me have 2.25 primaries and shorter than his truck pulling headers.

Wow... all that on 2 bolt mains? What is the roof on hp for 2 blt bbc's?

I was gonna suggest a blower until I read that.... I guess 950 hp will have to do:haha:. O well....:bow::bow:

Haha ya most people dont recommend putting more than 700hp on a 2bolt main, but that's what we have so were going to run it till it blows. We were also thinking of putting a centrifugal supercharger(procharger f2) which would make the same horsepower, but we fell to the good old cheap and easy nitrous method. We are stilling curious how long the motors going to last?:dunno:

Haha i think you might be let down when you see the pictures of our crank laying in the sand with a huge hole coming out the bottom of the block, but it sure as hell will be fun doing it. Were planning to go to some sand drags on June 20th in lemoore CA. Hopefully we will get some good videos of it on the nitrous and some of the other trucks and blazers.

I've relocated the battery in the back and added a cut off switch.
I also took the blazer to Lemoore to race in the sand drags. I wish I had more pictures but my nephew was having too much fun, he forgot to take pictures.
We have videos, but I can't upload the videos from my buddy’s camcorder to my computer. Any suggestion on how to upload videos from a Panasonic camcorder with those mini tapes?

There is a product called Dazzel that you can connect your camera to and it connects to your PC. It also has some basic video editing software with it called Pinnacle. Once you get it on your PC you can use Microsoft Movie Maker if you dont like Pinnacle (google it and you can find a free download somewhere, I did)

Most of the MiniDv cameras have either a USB or firewire port that should plug right into your PC (unless it is firewire which never really caught on and was obsolete when USB2 came out).

I've hooked up the mini usb cable. The camera also has a memory card which pictures are stored. I can see the pictures on the memory card but I can't see the tape.

VIDGEE-0'S..... VIDGEE-O'S..... VIDGEE-O'S.

About how many passes will you get out of a bottle? How much is a fillup? Nitrous is definetly way cheaper then a sukercharger but if that motor lasts long enough you might have saved some money with the sukercharger.... plus you get the joy of hearing it wind up.

Not enough, I found out a 10 pound bottle loses its effectiveness when it get down to 5 pounds. I went down to 4 lb, and lost the last race. I did about four or five laps with the bottle.
