The Jimmy build, beat and rebuild with very few updates.

No idea on drivetrain. Yet. Huffed 3800? Exocage will fix any width issues. Fenders will be for effect only. Front axle forward of the grill. Radiator in the back.

I like the 3800 idea, those are neat engines that have done all sorts of interesting things. But (assuming you haven't already bought your donor yet), you can easily enough find an S10 with a 4.3 already installed, and it's a bunch easier to find longitudinal 4x4 transmissions for a 90* bell housing (like the 4.3s run) than the 60* bell housing that the 3800s got. Both ideas work, but I'd favor a modified stock engine vs. a 3800 transplant.

If you got an actual 60* V6 (3800 doesn't count) you'd have room to narrow it further. :pimp:

A neighbors son totaled his HHR SS. 85k mile supercharged Ecotech. Sittin in the back yard. Real narrow. I can machine an adapter to make anything within reason work with anything. Non electronic controled overdrive transmission is a must.

I like where this is going...

You thinking stick shift? 700R4? Or a modern E trans just wired for full manual?

I used to have an HHR for a work car. It revved to the moon..lol

Once you open them up a little they can be pretty beastly. That little 4 banger is no joke.

Drove moms HHR Ss from Lake Havasu to Colorado Springs. At one point on a 2 laner in the indian reservation, she looked over and said, "the speed limit is 65mph". I was doing 125. And it had more left in it.

Regular hhrs top out at 118 :thumb:

Dad had the top speed reset. Not sure where he went to. But 125 was as comfortable as I could get on open roads in a short narrow car.

My buddy had a gmpp stage 3 kit on his cobalt ss with the super charger.

He got kicked off the track for burning the tires down and ran a 14...
