@ 76zimmer

that crossmember is sweet

do you have a parts list/dimensions/build tips? I think I'm gonna try and build something like that for my 85

I will add mine, forgot about this thread

The forward most is a modded stock x member and the rear is what I built, eventually I will make another one like the rear and make a bolt on skidplate

You guys would get mad if you saw what was under my doubler......

Martin

Here is mine. I boxed the frame rails and this setup gives me a flat belly. 3" body lift and I still had to slightly modify the floor (truck cab on 85 K5 Frame). Thinking of going with a UHMW skid but need to build some protection for the transmission pan first.

Tagged for pictures at home. I need to put my doubler together first....then figure out how I am going to buy driveshafts, then figure this out.:dunno:

well time to dig this thread up i am getting ready to build my crossmember for my 241/205 doubler hooked to my nv4500 anyone have a picture of theirs? i am using the ord doubler and ord puck bushings. need a little help thanks guys

A single OEM crossmember with 1" bar stock for a transfer case lowering kit.

Martin

Same here except I have a single support off the back of the 205 going up to a stock crossmember.

I think a lot of these cradles/supports are wicked cool but unnecessary. My long term plans are to just replace the "W" crossmember with a simple straight piece of tube that utilizes my existing poly trans adapter mount and that's it.

Not trying to critize, I'm am just curious?

I notice a lot of you guys put bushings under the doubler & between the crossmember & frame. Also noticed some of you are only putting bushings at the frame.

I have always had the thought that if you had engine mounts on the block that your trans/doubler mount needed to be similiarly spaced(i.e. at the doubler, not the frame), & that you shouldn't mix & match. Kinda like if you have solid or poly mounts on the engine you need the same at the trans/doubler.

Has anyone broke a transmission or adapter & it not been from driveshaft bound up?
