The Original Jaws Blazer Build

2013-07-27_34_zps10e33c97.jpg
Man that thing is looking awesome! I've been away for a long time! Can't wait to see pics of it finished, which looks to be pretty soon. I have to admit, when I first saw this thread I thought "Man this is a great idea but I'll bet this guy loses interest or runs out of funds and this project will just fade away..."

But man was I wrong! And so happy to be wrong as well! :waytogo:

Awesome. This really has inspired me and put the nail in the coffin. Gotta sell my current rig and spend the next few years building a full vert k5.

Keep up the good work!

Well...I never lost interest...funds...they are on a big loan so I have a payment...and still got a ways to go...all those rubber goods are extremely expensive...seals and weather stripping....and I got a lot of work to strip the seats and get them to the upholsterer....I don't want to do that yet because I won't have a seat to drive it while they have them...wish I had a junkyard seat that I could use while they do that...they told me that when I get the seats to them it could take up to 3 weeks.

Wow, I haven't checked this thread for a long time. When you first started this whole thing, I thought you were kind of an idiot for tearing apart a nice looking driver. I really assumed it would never be finished. I WAS WRONG.

Good work.

Martin

beautiful man! You need to submit a nice high quality pic for the calendar.

Are you going to ditch the lockouts in favor of the chrome dustcaps?

How about the light bar and the door script?

I would prefer you left it as it is right now, but it's your rig.

Martin

Damn chief! That looks phenomenal! I'm curious about the light bar and door script too. It's got to feel great with it almost done :waytogo:

Have a magnet banner made for the lettering so it can be removed. You can display it when you want to or go stealth when you don't

Have to...in my state you cannot put the word "POLICE" on your vehicle...I'm not sure what the consequences are but it's pretty serious. You could put it on a trailer car that never goes on the road....

Martin

No...it had the dustcaps to begin with...I made the decision to go with lockouts (Original Spicer) when I had the transfer case rebuilt and had the real MileMarker
spindle put in...I know it's not "Jaws" correct but it is Chevy optionally correct.

I like being able to put it into two wheel drive.

Wow. I stepped away from this for a while and I come back and this truck looks killer!

Puts my ****ty peeling '73 to shame lol. Way to go man :waytogo:

Thanks! It is much slower than I expected putting it back together...I am trying to get parts for the doors and I have ordered parts almost two weeks ago and they still haven't arrived.
I'm working extended hours nights and weekends plus not having the parts has me at a standstill right now.
I wish I could get the vent windows, door handles and all that external stuff done.
