That's pretty typical of a ZZ4. I was hoping they changed that on the ZZ5/6 but never had one. Instead of making a dished piston the just reduced the compression height. Quench is horrible but they still seem to work fine. But they would be better with a proper dished piston. I think Felpro makes a .015" head gasket you could try.
