The Purple Camaro

Yes, and both of us wiring through the line lock and 2step/soft touch for the lower launch limiter

That's just attaching the line lock wire in parallel to the 2 step input on the CDI box.

The Terminator X has a built in 2 step, but I'd still recommend the CDI box anyway.

I try to stock both the PF4 (and 35 # injectors) and also just the Edelbrock EFI intakes, and the Terminator X that can work with any of them. Because both systems work so well. But I typically like the Edelbrock intakes (when available) better than the Holley intakes, but not always.

Nice work. I like the depth micrometer being involved.

Did you measure all 4 corners or only #1?

The trickiest part is finding the average number since the piston wants to rock in the bore, I end up measuring a bunch of places and pivoting the piston top perpendicular to the bore so the measurement is the same everywhere. Theoretically it should be the same as averaging the highest and lowest point, but it doesn't take long to do anyway to confirm.

I also like to find true TDC with a piston stop (I find that more consistent than finding TDC with a dial indicator). I also use the piston stop to check the timing pointer before I install the heads.

Yes today is nerd out day:

Check each piston high and low. Measure piston rock
Check lift at lifter
Check installed numbers
Check duration
Check duration at max lift

Then I’ll put the heads on and clay it for valve clearance

Do math things and resolve anything that comes up

I didn’t have a ton of shop time this week. Enough to sort and clean a few engine things. Relieved the top of the oil boss behind the new cam gear just cuz it was close, put a traditional style wide cover on the chain, put the pan back on

Went to check the yoke and tailshaft. Found the TKX stuck in two gears. Must’ve had a rough ride even though the box was 100% intact. Pulled it apart and moved the sliders. All good

Mockup of the heads just to check the meat around the ports for the gaskets

1-2 throw and 3-4 throw is 2.75” at the center of the ball. That’s a Hurst Indy stick (yes I know it’s installed wrong)
