The Purple Camaro

They kept saying 305, and small displacement, the stroked it to 340.
It's now a 340.
Don't say it's amazing how how much power a 305 can make
It's cool and all but dollar for dollar a 4" bore block is still a better return on your money.

They did say the same applies to a 327, 350 and a 400 block
I just never understood throwing money into a 305 when you can get better return on money spent on larger bore engines. I do understand that there are racing classes where there are rules limiting you to a 305 but if there aren't any rules involved go to the bigger bore.

The 305 BS was a bunch of us just playing around because a certain cactus licker was being very quiet about what he was buying and building.
He was never serious about building a 305.

I hate these types of projects. Nothing about this is going to make it more fun

I had to do this with my 57 Pontiac. The pan that came with the engine was super close to the steering center link, and I never gave it much thought until I turned the wheel only to see it hit the pan. Also couldn't get the pan and stuff off with the engine in the car. So, it was everybody out of the pool for me too...excpet my car had no front sheet metal on it at the time so it was definitely easier.
