The R/C Garage... [R/C Drivers Lounge]

Let me know how you like that sprint 2. I was thinking of picking one of those up, but I've goy WAY too much coin into rc stuff for the time being.

My 4 year old son and I got two toy rc cars and i already modded my nissan gtr with some LED bulbs that where spares to a christmas light string.

Yea it looks cool. How did you line up the holes on a non-shell type body? I can't tell if they are drilled or not yet on your Camero body.

not mounted yet but i have the idea how.. cant find the link now but here is the jist..

basically you flip the lid over.. look where the screws are..either do one of 2 things.. but both pertain to the same thing..

if not worried about high speed flips taking lid off..
1. use the spring spacers.. they are in a C shape... you simply screw them to the body and then on the RC make a tube mount somewhere how you want it.. then simply click the body on...

if worried about high speed flips and lid rip off (which I am as it is a FOFF)
2. screw a flat bar with many of these C clips and follow same process as above..you just have more clipping on making more clipping force...

now to the thought of this.. you can also mount the rear or front with hinges... then do the same method to lock the other side...

ok found it... sweet...

^^^ Josh... nice ax10! :thumb:

very Flexy..

Thank you :D, I can't claim the AX that was Jacobs b day present when he turned 4, only the cheapy mini I picked up off of CL is "mine" :D

The axial is actually bone stock in the pics, we have a K5 body for it and are going to lower it some and some other changes are in order also. The stock servo is about done, and the gearing needs to go down also. Jacob is all about making it a better crawler now since I got him a mini REVO vxl for his last birthday :D, I'll get some pics of it and the AX once we get the new lid on it.

This made me get out my AX10 and Wraith. Need to use them more.

The Slayer is too loud for the RV park. And the track is 45 minutes away. So I have to wait until I get to Lake Havasu to play with it.

any no lid pics? wouldnt mind seeing..

one thing i did that was free and made mine crawl super better... was to remove the shock cups on the bottom.. it will lower the rig quite a bit.. enough to where my proline tuber sits on the steering servo...
little thing and it crawls 100% better..

other thing is to get some weight under it... weighted rims..
you can either buy weight kits like the stick on weights or get jconcepts tense weighted rim kit

my rig lost power so had to up the motor.. i went with a 55t novak but was told a 35t hand wound would give worlds of difference...

weight kit is hard to find now but no reason why you couldnt make your own...
check it out...

I really should become a full on member here and show my stuff. No crawlers for me. But I have a exact replica of my dads old boat, its about 3ft 8in or so and powered by a Stihl 125 series weedwacker motor, and that thing burns water, but I snapped the propeller shaft when it came out of the water. Need to get it fixed. I have had it for years now, and its such a blast, I mean its a 3month only type thing, but it out runs his jetskis all day long, and it runs off good ol 93 octane with some premix. I had a Budweiser split bow drag boat replica that was HUUUUUGE. Ran off 2 smaller weedwacker motors, but it was waaaayyyy to fast, and it always broke down, so I sold it. But having twin miniature 5 blade props was pretty nifty I will admit. Problem is with all these hobbies, bow hunting, trucks, 88 250R, a 58 Impala, that R/C boat, a dog, kids, plus generally being a 26yr old it leaves no more time for more expensive hobbies.

^^^ i hear ya.. i started getting rid of hobbies..

my rm250 and others... i also dont put much into my current hobbies...
kids and wife are the most expensive!

Well bow hunting isnt bad, I try not to lose any arrows. LOL :haha:

The TRX250R can get real flakey occasionally, but its torn down and in a pile, so it doesnt cost anything to own. It just looks pretty on the stand. Probably the funnest thing I own if I had to wager a bet, with the Sub in close second.

The 58 is a basket case, but its a factory W series BBC 348 2 door coupe car. So its worth coin, so it can sit where its at and not cost me anything either. Plus I got it for free! Its my next project after the Suburban is in a state of okness.

Dog, kids, and the GF are expensive, but thats part of the game. Being separated from my childrens mother highly enhances that expense.

The R/C boat hasnt moved in years, its just a conversation piece on the shelf in my dads garage until I have a prop shaft built, and since water freezes around here, thats not going to happen for awhile.

The Suburban is a money pit, but I like it. Now that its painted, all it needs is a longslip front driveshaft and its "golden" :haha:

I have come to the conclusion that its my stay out all night lifestyle that is the expensive hobby. But the GF is slowing that down. She doesnt understand that chasing loose women and drinking all night is fun. Trust me, I asked her.....

I cut way back. Had all of these at the same time.

Alright guys school me on Lipos. Is it even worth the cost?

I know Ill need a new charger, I have a prophet sport 2 right now.

What do I get? I have the slash with the traxxas brushless setup, and a scx 10 with the stock slash motor and ESC.:doah:

Is parralling them something worth doing for more runtime?

Lipos are 900000000% better than reg nicad batts.

Definatly worth it.

I had a bunch of turnigy packs from hobbyking.
3 of these

super cheap, and worked as well as my expensive packs.
