The R/C Garage... [R/C Drivers Lounge]

I might be confused here, but aren't the upper and lower links supposed to be switched? The lower has the angle in it to give more clearance.

i run small 2 and 3s batteries up front in my wraith.. it helps with the handling and crawling..

Got my paddle tires, no comparison to the stock boots :haha: Except on ice, there's less traction, makes for some interesting maneuvers :D
Still running the nimh ATM, my stampede is coming with some lipos. So I'll most likely start running them on the slash :thumb:

Has anybody ever heard of or had a problem with their lipos? At the LHS a bit ago and the guy convinced my wife that they're going to spontaneously combust and burn down our house and everything we love.

Is that accurate?
Any tips I need to know before running them.

Yes Lipo's can run away and burn... with a vengeance...especially if they get damaged or they are shorted... I never trust a pack once it has been in a shorted situation, Like a speed controller burning up...

It's not real common,,, but to be safe do not throw them on charge and walk away... you need to monitor the entire charging process.
In fact they even make fire proof bags to charge and store them in..

It takes a special charger for Lipo's and most of the chargers come with good instructions on how long to charge the packs..

also,, It's best to store the packs fully charged and not just put them up after a day of discharging them..

charging them on a concrete surface is a good choice just in case something goes bad...:thumb:

Umm... Or get a self balancing charging, and lipo bags.

both of those covered as well.

working on relocating my battery up front and moving my electronics to the rear. got a servo extension today and gonna cut up a little shelf for the rear of the cage where the battery box used to live. probably is worth it to just order one from CFM but for $10, i'll make it myself! ha.

also trimmed the rear half of the cage off, gonna go from a 4 seater to a 2 seater look.

The instructions that came with the lipo battery i bought made it seem like much more than just looking at it would set it off like Little Boy or Fatman.

I've got a nice charger that I can set what Mah rating, voltage and time limit to charge the battery for. Wish I would've bought it a long time ago.

Also added some inner fenders

You can see where I relocated the electronics to the rear. Made up a little panel that I bolted down.
Stripped out the servo horn this morning crawling at the in laws. I've got an axial one that I ordered last week so that's a coinkydink
