The R/C Garage... [R/C Drivers Lounge]

Rc crawlers seem to be the most popular here, but does anyone build/fly rc planes?

no... my bud is into heli and has a mess of them.. he gave me 1.. but it isnt that fun.

I used to do fast.. i sold my old tmaxx to a member here. Would love to remember who as Id love to get it back.. sniff sniff... my first nitro...

fast = breaks = $$$$$$$$$$$$

Got my scx10 out for a good burn, got to run it a good hour with out a breakdown. I put a set of aluminum knuckles up front as well as a better aluminum tie rod as I bent the other and destroyed the tie rod and smashed a plastic knuckle.

Went out with a few guys the other day.

The wraith had a mamba brushless setup, 4700kv I think. Was real hairy. The scx with c10 body has a hpi brushless setup in it, was quite impressed with how well it crawled.

Also put a 27t motor back in with the 12 tooth pinion.

It had a 20t motor before, I quite like it more now :thumb:

I did shortly after I posted last night.

Got me thinking now

Rather put a mamba max motor in my slash next, crawling will be coming to a close shortly for the winter season here :doah:

Hmmm tell me more?

35T will slow it down. Higher the turns, slower the truck- more torque, and way more run time. Great for low speed technical stuff, and a 35T on 3S Lipo wakes up pretty good too when you need wheel speed.

We were running 85T motors geared 12/87 on a 2S 3300mah lipo in SCX10's and getting 4-5 HOURS of run time per battery. They only went like 1mph, but that's crazy!

4-5 hours is pretty damn good. Can get 2 hours on my 2s 5000 with the 27t motor.

Here's a Chevy I have:

Ordered a level 3 chassis mounted servo/panhard kit. Nothing fit
Right where the servo was to be relocated too. I suspect being I have a lift in it is why.

Mounted servo to stock frame cross member, used panhard mount and panhard with some modifying to make it work. Looks like I should build a mount and lower it same as ghe drag link.

Shortened upper links to fix the castor.

All in all, handles like a new truck. It actually steers now :doah::thumb:

Nice. That's my biggest complaint with mine, is the damn ten foot turn radius. Even stock with 1.9"s.
