Me and deuling just ripped every wire out of this thing due to the help of captain Morgan. Got some Sweeet ideas for running our own wiring. Lets just say there will be lots of nice switches to play with. :thumb:
 
Why is it going to be illegal? You're in Michigan, how hard can it be to be street legal?

Michigan has a rather well written lift law that includes frame, bumper, and headlight height requirements.

That's not to say many law enforcement officers actually know it or enforce it...or enforce it correctly.

I think about 6" of lift and 38's would put you at the legal limit for a fullsize.
 
Yep, our lift law is strict here too. But its rarely enforced. What gets most people tickets around here is stupid loud exhaust and driving like an idiot. I drove with open headers and I have about an 11in lift, and drove for years and never got bothered. I just didnt use excessive throttle when it wasnt needed. Alot depends on how you act in public, revving it up and tearing things up as well. Also it depends on your PD, State and Counties are usually alot more of a PITA with obscure laws like that than local city cops. My parents have both a state and a county cop that live across the way, and they all know each other pretty well, and they came over and asked about the trucks, as my brother has an almost identical sized one, and said it doesnt bother them, just keep it quiet and dont draw anymore attention to yourself than necessary.
 
The lift laws in my town are a little more inforced due to the fact there are several people around with lifted trucks who rev their engines, drive too fast through town, and just act like idiots in them and draw too much attention. Granted I will probally try driving it around and see if the cops bother me. If they do then oh well. And if they don't :thumb:
 
Yep, a few idiots ruin it for everyone. When I first turned 21, we used to be able to ride our 4wheelers, snowmobiles and such to the bars in towns a few miles from ours and no one would bother us, then somebody went around ripping dounuts in town and in peoples yards. Ruined that in one winter. They dont bother me or my brother in our trucks, a few of my friends have some pretty tall lifted trucks and they dont bother them, but alot of the kids in HS and my friends that havent yet grown up are getting nailed left and right on the lift law/loud exhaust, and the only reason they are is they act like they aint got no sense in their heads. Im not saying I wasnt a kid once, hell I tore up a farmers field and got CAUGHT bigtime, yanked outa HS and everything. Paid the fine, which luckly it wasnt classified as a felony even though it was over 300$, and only because the farmer turned out to be a decent guy for no other reason than he was a kid once like he said and let it go, but to a HS age guy with hardly a job that was big bucks. Never did it again. It just pisses me off seeing one person acting a fool and ruining stuff for everyone. Thats a huge reason why most of our local stuff has been taken away. Leaving trash everywhere and in general being a nuisance. I mean I do love the sound of straight pipes, but keep that at the track or at the mudbog, no reason for it on the streets.

Yah the cops around here are dicks about it. Ive heard of em getting tape measures out. I think bumper has to be 36" or so max off ground
