"The Raped Grape" turning wilted raisin... ***crash update, pics start post 600***

Well to get back on track somewhat with my build some future inspiration for the motor i plan on doing in this truck next year. I want to do a 6.0Ls with a turbo :thumb:o

This truck runs around at silver lake and he did a 5.3 Ls with a turbo and the thing rips. Enjoy

awesome, how well do you think the 44's are going to do? I hear those are excellent dune tires.

Yah know a few people who have run them and said they loved them. If I can find a good used set ill be keeping an eye out for some paddles:whistle:

Buying efi live or plan on paying someone to dynotune it for you

I havent got that far yet haha. Ive just been doing some research here and there. All I know is thats what I want and come next winter. Thats what I intend to do.:pimp:

I can help a little with efi, but my only experience is street tuning my diesel. Going to jump on the ls bandwagon for the next build so maybe I will do some research myself.

I felt like I could see the turbo lag on my computer. I'm new to the turbo world and it took me a little while to get my shift points down. I'm not sure how I'd like turbo in sand. Any thoughts on a supercharger?

Well I dont think theres really anyway around turbo lag. No matter what size turbo you go with it takes time to spool it up. Just the smaller you go smaller gains but quicker spool up and bigger you go big gains but you need more motor to spool it up. For me I would try to find a happy medium. I want it to be able to be spooled up within 20-30 feet and have enough boost to pull for an 1/8th mile. I havent spent a ton of time researching yet but I dont think thats too much to ask at all I think probally a 67mm on a 6.0 would do it. Idk now you guys are getting me thinking about next winter and not about all the work I have to do this winter haha

compound that bitch!

I am very curious how much boost a 6.0 could hold. Compounds would surely be pushing it
Hmmmmmm wish I had the time and the funds to start this winter. Has to wait till next year tho.:doah:

I know a couple guys with turbos on their LS motors.

20 psi is not unusual and seems to be dead reliable.

BTW I would still cut off the frame behind the hangers. You may not rock crawl but weight is a killer in the sand, really a killer on your kind of short race type dunes

Didnt get a ton done waiting on steel and parts to come in again. So I worked on my dash and bezel. Got my switch panel all made up and in and guage cluster in. Just need to order some more guages now and get a speedo and tach for the center.
