The RedBurb

Every Part Is Replaceable
That’s a nice looking stance, and super clean work. I’d like to get a closer look. Meet me on Moab in a couple of weeks ?

David

That would be one heck of a shakedown run! I’m shooting for next year. We already have plans that weekend this year and there is still lots to do on the burb before it’s ready for that 3,300 mile round trip to Utah. Maybe in a year and a couple weeks?

Chance favors the bold.

Would be one hell of a trip.

As far as I could tell the frame is not bent. Just got to make sure the at fault party’s insurance company doesn’t try to keep it.

Charge them fair market rate (i.e, how much it would cost you to HIRE OUT the building of an identical rig). That's not a simple $500 fender-bender.

Wooo:eek1::eek:. First hopefully everyone is ok.
Second that is very fixable looking from that picture. I would definitely fight to have it fixed.

Thanks for all the support guys. I have possession of the truck again. She will still live. Just got to work through the insurance process now. The front clip is definitely gone, so is the radiator. The center pin on the pass leaf pack sheered off (likely because of the dragging on and off and on and off the tow trucks). The pass tire, wheel, and shock are gone. Front Pass door is dented but repairable. The engine and most everything else under the hood appear to be okay at first glance. Not sure what else. I’ll post up more details as I get them.

So begins the next phase of the build: Down but not Dead.

I’ll make sure to get back to and reply to everyone’s comments after I get some rest. Just want y’all to know how much I appreciate all of you and your support.

I'll insert the obligatory "it will buff out" comment.

But with all the new pics you posted it totally looks repairable.

Yeah it’s definitely reparable. I really want to go ahead and get started by pulling the wheel and tire off and straightening the axle but I think that would probably cause problems with the adjuster.

Damn. This turned my stomach. Sorry this has happened, and glad you’re okay.

David

I wasn’t too thrilled about it. There were no passengers in either vehicle and neither of us were really hurt. I should be back on track for BB20 in no time.

My dad gave me similar advice. We are both insurance guys, and he said the hours I put in should be accounted for in the valuation of the truck.

Saw it on IG. Sucks brother. Don't let the insurance company muscle you around. Since the frame don't look bent I'd say you can fix it.

As others have said, it’ll buff out. Just got to find the time now.

Sorry to see that! Definitely a punch to the gut, and I'm only spectating. I'm hoping you and yours are okay and physically unscathed.

I guess I’ll know in the morning what my body is telling me.

Mentally I can see the way forward and the destination. I just have to wait until I meet with the adjuster so I can know what I have to work with.
