i got a long way to go man...

we went to Lucern Valley Commiefornia yesterday and got my tires from 100 dollar man. even at 50% theyre better looking than i expected. took em to my friend's tire shop and they mounted them up for me. but couldnt get the beads seated. (F**KIN 16.5s!) so today i'm going to a friend's house, he has a compressor, and we're gonna hit em with starting fluid. it better work, i can't afford bead locks yet.

I went to my dad's house and my brother and I got the tires seated and bolted on today! did the brake cleaner/lighter trick, worked like a charm. except for the spare. my old spare was a 14.5" wide swamper SSR, the wheel is 10" wide. we couldn't get the stiff 12.5" tire to seat on it. no big deal I'll buy another 8" wheel and get it done and film it this time.

it feels SO good to see her sitting on her own 4 feet. I really don't know wtf I was thinking trying to sell this truck...

oh and if anyone has a spare 8 lug 16.5 wheel in the 8" wide range, i need one.

Next up is front brake lines. One of them got badly dryrotted and the swamper hit it when we dragged it across the yard. After I got the new tires on it I stepped on the brake pedal to find it dropping clear to the floor, pass front line blew. I've got spares so I'll get them installed Wednesday morning.

Then replace the brand new valve stem that blew out of the drivers rear wheel and get the tire reseated. Check this out, I found the inside on the valve stem in the dirt 10' away.

Love it! I'll be following this build too.
A big transport like a Burb was meant to have a D60 frt. :waytogo:

Cool man! I had a pic of your burb on the wall in my bedroom for a couple years of right after you had it all primered and the swampers on. Love that truck! Whats the plans with the body?

10b front 3.73
14bff rear, detroit 4.10
4" pro-comp springs and blocks
i'm sure i'll add more as i go along...

Did you drive it back in the day with 2 different gear ratios?
IMHO Ditch the blocks.
I'm stoked for you on the burb resorection. :waytogo: Can't wait to see it move on it's own power.

wow, thanks man! body? no sure yet, my wife wants to flat black it, but thats played out. i'm thinking grey, something like the new ford pickups. that or an old school two tone like it started life as.

yes but never in 4wd. i swapped in the 14bff/detroit and pulled the front driveline but never got around to regearing the front before i parked it. yes the blocks are on my list of things to go bye bye, i'll get some shackle flips from DIY.

thanks a lot guys!

2 tone gray/dark gray following the original lines would be sick.
..Or Gray CAMO with lots of rock sctatches like mine.

so grey with a dark grey stripe or dark with a lighter stripe. i always like the grey/white on Fox's k5, back when it was a k5.

I agree, back when I primered it, it just seemed right for it to be that color.
