The restoration/modification of Daisy.

Best way is to drill the bleeder out.
You already have a pilot hole.
get it close and then clean the threads.
Done it already.

Yeah that's what I should have done. But after the extractor was broken off in there there was no drilling it.

I had that happen before in something else, I drilled with a tiny drill bits(1/64") around the broken extractor to get it to come out.

I just heat the broken bleeder up with a torch, and they seem to come right out with an extractor.

Ole Daisy is coming along nicely! I can’t wait to see and hear the BD engine run once it’s all nestled in there. I’ve never heard of BD before now. Hell, they look like a great outfit with very fare pricing for a ready to fly engine.

Nice progress man! I've been slowly gathering my LSX parts over the last year and this thread should be an awesome guide when it comes time!

i wanted an engine from him a couple years ago but couldn't get the money together at the time. (old job, half the pay) you and me both, after pricing things to do it myself and figuring the amount of time i'd have into it, this seemed fair to me. the first time it gets fired up i'll record it for everyone on CK5.

thanks dude, other guys' build/LS swap threads are what made me decide on a turnkey engine, 75% of the work is harness breakdown and computer tuning. no thanks, i'm not patient enough for all of that.

Both very true!

your thread specifically was a deciding factor. i havent actually read it all yet but i started stabbing at pages and SEVERAL pages deep, skimming through, all i saw was "pinout diagrams, this wire does this, this sensor needs this," etc. i knew i wouldn't have the patience for it. more power to you for doing it yourself, you've got my complete respect, i just couldn't imagine it myself doing it.

lol its funny because i dont have the patients to save the money!

this is the most cash ive ever had in hand, couldn't have done it without my wife, keeping me on track and setting me a $200/wk allowance.

Well good job man! I hope to someday do something similar with my 78. Save the money and do a plug and play.

i dropped the fuel tank off at a shop to get cleaned today, the guy was pretty shocked at how much varnish was in there. said he could get it done but it'd take all weekend. so by monday i should have a clean fuel tank. tomorrow i'll order my fuel pump, filter and sending unit. then i'll have to re do some fuel lines for the return side.

Getting anxious, I called the shipping company (reddaway) today to see if my engine has arrived yet. It's been sitting there since Wednesday morning and they never called me!! So I'll have it Monday.

fuel pump, fuel tank sending unit, fuel filter and engine oil cooler all ordered. , i'll have my fuel tank monday. next weekend should be fun!
