The restoration/modification of Daisy.

Just off of first looks, I'm betting the ez-inch will need to be moved to the rear to get the stance right.

Good enough. I dont know that i have heard anyone be disappointed with the grabbers.

The only complaints I've heard is that they're heavy but they're still lighter than the old goodyears. That and I switched to aluminum wheels so I saved weight there too.

Probably. Bringing the front down an inch will level it out but when she's loaded up shell squat. Right now the old wheels/tires are in the back and that's already squatting the rear suspension.

i did some measuring and i'm wondering just how much lift the front has right now, after removing a leaf the springs settled some. ever since i drove away from the tire shop yesterday i've been thinking about dropping the front end an inch to fill the fender a little better but i'd like a better idea of where i'm at now. can someone else on 35s measure their trucks there and tell me how much lift you've got?

front spring eye bolts are at 26 7/8"

rear spring hanger bolts are 24 1/8"

i can pull the zero rate out of the front which will lower the front end and move the axle back 1". the problem with all of this is that i've got 14" shocks and that'll leave me with 4.5" of up travel from ride height in the front shocks. i could buy a pair of 12" shocks for the front i guess. or just deal with it and save my money for a set of ORD springs... i should probably just leave it alone and work on other things, like sliders bumpers and skid plates

I was thinking about duratracs, BFG A/Ts and these. I've heard that these are some of the toughest tires out there, that played a big part. Both of the other two have soft/weak sidewalls. I've killed BFGs and my brother has killed duratracs.

Glad to know. Thats why i want to ditch the truxs mts for them. I already killed one sidewall airing them down in the sand.

Looks great man. What size are the tires? And do they actually measure to size?

Mounted with weight on them at 50psi ( tire shop set it there, too much) they're 34" tall. Without weight on them 34.5"

I have stock Springs front and rear with 285/75-16s. About 32x11.

How much clearance do your front wheels have? I'm considering 285/75R16 tires for my stock-height Suburban, and they look like they'd be close to rubbing (on pavement).

I assume you have a build thread on here (that I haven't stumbled onto yet..)

hmm... this makes my truck 5" taller in the rear and damn near 7" in the front. i think i'm gonna drop the front an inch and start saving cash for ORD springs.

My K5, 4" superlifts up front, no motor. 25" to the front bolt center. Rear is 23 1/4" with 4" block and a 1" zero rate. Truck has 35's on it that measure about 33 1/2"...they're pretty worn.

Your taking tire size into account also right?

Your tires are 31.5" mounted, mine are 34" mounted. That's a 2.5" difference in diameter, split that in half for radius makes a 1.25" height gain from the tires. that makes my truck 3.75" taller in the rear and 5.75" taller in the front. Does that sound right? I'm a victim of the Clark county school district... Haha!

So at 1/2" less tire which is effectively only a 1/4" less tire your truck still sits 2" lower than mine. Hmm.... Seems like I'm a little tall, which is surprising.

I guess I never took into account that Dana 60s have taller perches and larger tubes that add an inch of lift over a 10bolt.

on flat ground she doesnt look as tall in the front. the driveway makes things look funny. i still have a zero rate that i was going to install on the rear, with any weight in the back she squats. i don't really want her any taller but i want her to ride level since i plan to get her setup for camping and leave it all in the truck most of the time.

i'm really digging the new wheels and tires. i drove across town yesterday and out to boulder city today, maybe 100mi. she drives as straight and smooth as can be! no pull, no dive under braking, wound her up to 80mph, i can let go of the wheel at 75mph and nothing happens.
