The restoration/modification of Daisy.

Subscribed...I like the CG-pic in post #47 with the red stripe. Reminds me of a dealership service/parts workshirt lol. I like the slider drawers too.

I, too, can say I own the K5 I learned to drive/passed my driving test in. Talk about pride :)

Yeah when a guy came over to look at and offered me $800, all these memories came back of when I was a teenager driving and wrenching. I told him to leave and just stared at the sub for 5 min or so. I actually apologized to it and dragged it out of the corner the next day.

I was looking at color post..that would look good with the red stripe..

Use the body line as a border/guide, like the oem molding in the day...it just looked "right":waytogo:

keep it up, you're keeping me motivated!:pimp:

ftw!!!!!!!!

Trim parts has some really high quality stuff, but unfortunately they don't make much for our trucks.

I've only ordered a few things from them, but quality seems pretty good, and some prices are cheaper than LMC...others not cheaper...just shop around I guess.

Just ordered my catalog. Why do you say they are waaay better?

The catalog it's self is nicer and for most of the **** I need they're a little cheaper. I've heard their weatherstrip parts are better too. I'll find out soon.

They have lots of stuff that isn't in the catalog too. They have been pretty good with me. I've only had 1 problem with them but it was quickly resolved.

yeah i'm browsing the website right now ordering door seals and window felt. :thumb:

another quality supplier is Harmons...but they are kinda pricy...

ive got a bunch of little odds and ends for the doors/body ordered. next will be all the door window seals/felts/vent windows etc... it feels good to be making some kind of progress finally. i'm kinda at a point where i need to start spending money and putting things INTO the truck rather than removing everything.

interested to see how the window seals/felts fit, and who you got them from...

I'm interested too. I ordered these from classic parts. LMC has window sets to do all the windows, classic doesn't. Might go with LMC for the windows.

Wow this thread has perfect timing for me. I just picked up a 87 1/2 ton burb this month. It has been sitting about 3 years now but has a new lift and tranny in it. I have a few odds and ends to get to see if its a decent runner but for 800 I couldnt pass it up. Interested to see the suspension work you do and the LS swap is gonna be killer. Good luck and keep going!

I'll be doing a shackle flip on the rear and maybe a zero rate up front. I wanna keep it as low as possible. I might even redrill the front springs rather than a zero rate to gain some firewall clearance

Do the zero rate. Dealing with a 1" lift will be 1000x easier than drilling springs to move the axle forward.

Hmm, I've never drilled a spring pack so I'll take your word for it. That and I doubt I'll ever go down in tire size.

yeah, they can be a biatch depending on your bits/drill.

I never have either, but its super hard steel. Would require a drill press, really nice bits, slow cutting speed, cutting fluid, disassembled spring packs, lots of cursing, lots of broken bits, lots of beer....

When I install my zero rates, they came with the larger center pin. I got a longer, stock diameter one, and never looked back....
