The restoration/modification of Daisy.

well, today's progress consisted of cleaning the garage a little, selling a set of old stock steel wheels and starting up a white board to-do list for the suburban. i did score a pretty good deal today, a friend of mine is moving and sold me some of his stuff. i picked up an 8'x3' 4' tall work bench, 8" drill press, 8" bench grinder and a small band saw for $100. so tomorrow will consist of a whole lot more garage cleaning and reorganizing. but it's gonna be SO NICE to have a work bench that doesn't double as a $6k toolbox.

i've also decided to name the suburban... ive always said the suburban was a girl due to the amount of my time and money it sucked up and such a big girl needs a cute name. her name, is Daisy.

I used a nickname for an old g/f's funtunnel "daisy"
A burb seems like a Bertha to me

I always thought Jenna Jamison would be a good name for a Suburban since all of the people it can have in it at one time.......

nope, she was a sport model, and built for speed!

So this weekend didn't work out as planned. It was productive but not what I wanted. Spent a lot of time cleaning/reorganizing the garage. Brought home my new work bench and made some room to actually work in there.

That beer fridge all packed up there is gone Tuesday. Next weekend, progress will be made. The Chevy is no longer registered or insured, lowes today was its last ride. She's been a good truck, almost sad to see her go. this week i'll bring home my cherry picker and start dis-assembling the Chevy.

Wait, you're getting rid of your beer fridge?????????

Martin

It's not mine. I'm kind of a middle man, my neighbor gave it to me, I'm giving it to a friend. I have a full sized fridge in the garage already.

Helping a friend move today, doubt I'll be making any progress on Daisy today.

Well, I did make some progress today. The friend I helped move is an offroad guy too and paid me in parts! I got a York compressor and mounting bracket, a box of random fabrication tabs and a champion 12,000lb winch! The winch needs a new motor and a good cleaning, as does the compressor but I consider it to be a good score.

Been doing a lot of yard work lately. Every time I decide, "this weekend I'm tearing the Chevy apart." something comes up an I need the damn thing. I did get all the TBI **** (harness/computer) out of the suburban a couple weeks ago. There's one connector I need to post a photo of and ask about before I put the dash back together. I'm at work but I'll post that up tonight and see what you guys think.

anyone know where this connector/harness goes? It plugged into the TBI computer. I haven't dug through the dash enough to see where it ends up but I doubt I'll need it once the vortec engine is in.
