I've hated photobucket for years.... too bad about all the lost pics.
Take any good trips in this thing lately? Photobucket had a hay day with this thread![]()

CK5 fundraiser time!
sorry bastards...how much would an update to his account cost? There's entirely too much good info to let be lost....
****ing fotobucket.

There are about a bazillion pics in here that I would need to reload to another free site and re-link to this site (this would take months to complete). Then does THAT site decide to follow photobucket's lead and throw a random $400.00 invoice at me some day?? I don't know what to do here. Ideas/suggestions/opinions??
I was hoping to get over to Edmonton to meet up with Rene, but we were heading in the wrong direction for that to happen.I'm doing that same almost exact trip here in a few weeks, except I'm going over to Edmonton. Should be fun.
You can certainly D/L your pics and then upload them here so that they will exist as long as this site exists. It sucks, but it's doable. @Chief Brody did it to his monster thread a few weeks back.
This exact thing is why I've always hosted my own pics. It's fairly cheap to have your own hosting site and it lets you create your own web page if you feel so inclined.

I know the site hosting here is an option. I always used PB because I could easily use the same pic on multiple sites and also non-subscribers could see the pics here. So how does a person with very(!!) limited computer knowledge go about finding information on how to do this to determine the feasibility of this method??
I assume you mean about doing your own hosting. You would have to get a hold of a hosting company such as this one:So how does a person with very(!!) limited computer knowledge go about finding information on how to do this to determine the feasibility of this method??
I assume you mean about doing your own hosting. You would have to get a hold of a hosting company such as this one:
https://www.1and1.com/web-hosting?a...Klvc4kjg5lSnTDPQZmaQ5Z6ry4hY4LE8aAiJGEALw_wcB
Basically, they give you an online address that is connected to the internet and you can put anything you want there. If you put the right html files there you'll have a website. You can also host pics there, then just link to them directly like I do:
http://www.renegadeheroes.com/ashmanfiles/pics/20130928_111116.jpg.jpg
Once you have site hosting, you can also buy a domain name from someone like godaddy (pretty cheap) and have that domain name link to your hosting site.
In my case, I have the domain name "renegadeheroes" and it links to my hosting site. Although this step is not necessary, it does make for an easier address to remember. As you can see, I created a couple of sub folders that contain my pics, but you can do it however you want. Most hosting sites make it super easy and it's not much different than organizing folders on your home computer.
They will provide FTP access so that you can transfer files from your computer to your site. Then just link the address wherever you want, like I did above. I assume you already know how to use IMG tags to get the pic itself to show up.
Nooooooopictures.....arrrrggghhhh. Lol.
So I've looked around for answers, but evidently not in the right places, so I'll try here. Uploading photos to the CK5 mothership, do they still have that large CK5.com in the lower right corner like they did a few years back?? If I upload to CK5, can they be linked to another forum site?? Is there a limit to how many pics can be loaded??
@mosesburb Uploaded or attached pics do not have any watermark. If you upload your pics to the media gallery you have unlimited storage and you can link them to other sites, you also have full control of who can view pics, albums etc. You can make your photos, private, members only, or everyone. So I've looked around for answers, but evidently not in the right places, so I'll try here. That's only for "attachments" to the forum, the media gallery is unlimited and you can link out.You can load 20 pictures per post. Only paying members can see them, so linking to other sites doesn't work unless those readers are also CK5 members. The watermark is gone.
You can also click on the camera icon and then drag and drop into a post to make it real easy.I just copy and paste if I need to pull one from one thread to somewhere else.
