The "under destruction builds" supersize75k5 's driveway of despair and repair

top speed will be 40 or so max, I think that is plenty, if not I can get a 5 speed for it I guess.

 really , did YOU just say that :haha: ......"I think that is plenty" ....I didn't know that you even knew that phrase :D

There is not much room between my face and what ever object I slam into:1zhelp:

I figure with limited uptravel, manual steering and a narrow track width I have no business going too much faster. The torque should make getting it up to 40 a blast though.

Other drivetrain Ideas have been a shaft drive motor cycle engine to a transaxle or using this motor and a divorced sami case. Problem is using this motor worries me a bit for parts availability. Hope to build them both with the same drivetrain to make field repairs a bit less or a headache.

Cant wait to jump it:haha:

Can't wait to see pictures of you jumping it! :haha:

Shaft drive bike engine could be cool , and old KZ1000 engine could be nice and cheap and pretty damn tough as well. Plus there would just be something cool about one of those mini trucks spinning 10k :eek1:

We have several of those on the camp here and I have been thinking one would be a great parts hauler. One is a crewcab with a cage.

Now that I know they have them in the states I might have to look for one.

So what do you do to smog it once you start hacking away at the stock drivetrain? :dunno:

Not street legal anyways and I would not want to be hit in this thing with its china steel that is paper thin:eek1:

I will plate it for ohv and that is not hard. Just requires the basics and it has those and more already.

I think they would be badass around the house or if one had a acre or more. My grandparents feed 50 horses among their other animals, once of these would be nice for moving things around for sure.

I am in love with the idea of having a cherry picker on it, moving axles, motors and heavy crap from the back to the front sucks with just a dolley. I have been wanting to move the 44 for the sas off the ground to get started but its no fun by ones self.

This little guy is getting one of those tiny camo harbor fright winches for sure too:pimp:

Well got stuck lol

30 psi and narrow tires with 1 wheel wonder is not a good combo:popcorn:

Hit some silt and she stopped dead, wound up taing almost half an hour to move it, funny thing is every time it dug down my buddy and I just lifted the back up and moved it over a foot lol

Debating if I should weld the diff to play with it for a little while:confused::pimp:

Im pretty excited about it:D Got the front off the ground and figured its sweet spot to slide it around in the dirty alley ways today too:waytogo:

Being it runs I think we may concentrate on building the single cab one first.

This little guy is my new best friend "also my backs":D

Got the utility bed loaded and moved around, I could not for the life of me think of how the hell I was going to move this thing..now I have a solution to these issues:D

Also went and picked up my dana 44 for the sas on the 06 so I can start getting the brackets cut off and new perches on it.

And painted my trailer today and new reflector tape, I had the rustoleum already and it was driving me nuts with how ugly it was. Soon ill start on the remaining 3 hubs that need to convert to 8 lug, new rear lights, spare tire mounts and the new tool box. It was actually hot enough to make me sweat all afternoon doing so too:pimp: love Arizona!

During my fun also had a look at this...

07 classic d-max, 65k miles 4x4 rolled. It was wrecked up in flagstaff, ins payed the owner for the truck and his brother bought it hoping to fix it up..he was not happy when all the shops told him their prices.. so its for sale, Im interested but I think at 7500 its over priced??

Bummer is its salvaged so the warranty is void, and I would have to use my my chevy cab, with a gmc vined drivetrain on a a non matching chevy frame.. could get interesting??

It runs and drives and has a very nice interior... I am up in the air if it is a good or bad opportunity.

if it runs and drives, Id say go for it. Didnt the white 07 look like that for a while... minus the big tires and lift of course.

lol yes.. it looked similar. I fear no project or any amount of cab swapaged at this point I guess!

I am curious on the vin issue, going to talk to my ins agent and ask about a insuring a salvage title.

I would have to swap the drivetrain over to my sas long bed frame, then swap my cab and take the vin from the wrecked truck to the my 06 cab.. I am ok with swapping vins with what I own and have paperwork to but damn.. that is some serious switcheruuooo going on.

I am also a little hesitant on the price with so many projects in the mix. It is a cool opportunity, just need to think it out first. I am a little mixed on the story that came with it too, I was told it was wrecked in the tornado they has a little while back in flag but under it every thing looks scraped and dented like I drove it. Kind of looks like it was joy rided hard, it does sound like it runs fine though. I should do a car fax on it and see if the story matches up with the timeline.

i see wrecked truck and 7500 and first thing i think is pass. Just my opinion.

yea but how many are a low mileage duramax? with the 6 speed in it? thats worth 7k right there. let alone any other parts like interior. yea i would buy it in a heartbeat

i would run the carfax and maybe call his ins agency and make sure. but i bet for the right price you could still break even selling the drivetrain to somebody along with any other parts still good on it

Why would you have to swap the vin #s... or is it the BS emissions red tape at work again?

The issue i could see is when I pull in for emissions or a savvy highway cop notices I have a plate and vin pulling up as a gmc and my front clip is a chevy..

I also am not sure but I think I recall hearing you can not go from gas to diesel with a swap and have it emissions legal?

Way back when I had my 75 I had cut the truck up to a truggy and moved the vin, a highway cop damn near had me impounded when he noticed the screws rather than the rivets.

I do want my bases covered, doing all that work for nothing would be insanely ****ty.

7500 is a lot of cash to me when I think about all my projects, drivetrain is nice but again... no warranty and pricy repairs if they ever decided to ruin my day.

Why are these not street legal in AZ? Those things got imported like crazy for a while when fuel was so high. People used as an alternative and even got tax credits & such for having them tagged as an alternative or eco friendly ride. They still get used on the roads some here. Most made it to hunting camps to use instead of a 4 wheeler though. Cheaper than most 4wheelers too.

Not sure, they very well may be in fact street legal, guy we bought them from said they were not, even then... after a drivetrain swap it would be interesting to say the least to get it tagged:doah:

All the roads here are 45 near me, with an ohv plate I might go to the store via side streets but the main road is way too busy for me to be in this little thing.

I am starting to think I should rename the title of this thread to shawn's white truck builds..
