Just get some gasket material and a ball peen hammer. Made dozens that way. Thats how all the gaskets were done on my braden in the previous posts. Sourced my own seals from the part numbers on the seals.

problem was i had no good seal #'s and buy the time i tried and figure them out it was cheeper to buy the kit but in the end the kit was wrong and cost me time and more money .

the seals were rusted bad cause the gear box had water / oil mix in it for years . but the gears were fine thankfully and not trashed like the lowers in the 2 warn 8274 winches . .

i had a friend scan the gaskets in and save them . she just got a new cutter unit for all sorts of stuff and 1 on the list is gaskets . :deal:

Your biased . . Your vote dont count @mrk5 :ROLFLMAO:

And at some point in her life she took a drink . The front gear box was way over full and BROWN mix. Easy flush out and topped off and good to go again .

@mrk5 its babby brother is now in place . But the big brother you sent me will be next on the back as a drag line winch .

Was better to just make new plates 2" narrower than std drum width than modify the 1st set .

I did set the winch 1" taller off the main frame this go around . Gives more room for stuff and mods latter .

I ordered the sae 20w non detergent oil for the gear box on both . And i dug out the 5gal bucket of worm gear oil for the worm box . Both are lubriplate brand top shelf stuff .

Got the 20w non detergent oil today . Already had the bucket of worm oil .

Spec is 1 pint / half qrt of the 20w in the gear box . Then about 1qrt of the worm oil in the big box .

Nice score!

I like the mobility with that cradle thing and it looks halfway decent for light duty shenanigans.
you best be a body builder to lift the 12k ramsey and the cradle . 2 of us to load in my truck and engine hoist to remove when i got home .

I must be a magnet for winches . . 3 more added to the PILE to clean up and play with and use or sell . 2 out of 3 10min from house and 3rd meet half way 25 miles away .

another RE-8000 . . RE-12,000 . . Warn 8274 jeep edition .

I have a sickness for the good old stuff .

Pretty Jealous of the 8274's you've picked up. Had one a few years back and sold cheap to a buddy. Wish I had it still.

@JoshHefnerX 2 ready to finish rebuilds . 1 get bow 2 6.8hp motor upgrade . 3rd new in box from 1983 . 4th torn down needs a bit so later project . Got one from a member here years ago and rest local .

Ramsey units starting to loose count :rotfl: 1st one i got from @mrk5 . If i recall its 3 8k units 4 12k electric units and 1 pto 12k wide drum unit 125ft over 100ft of cable .

I might have forgot 1 in the mix . And only 1 i have paid up for is the new in box 8274 . Rest i have at most 600 each and most 200 - 400 bucks . Most all just need clean up seal set fresh oil and maybe a cable .
