I'm kind of trying to figure out my plan of attack for the paint progression. Any suggestions/ideas are welcome. Here was my general plan:
- Take the body off the 4wd dually (grey one), and blast and paint the frame. First part of that is done. Frame blast/paint is next.
- Remove the bed from the black dually and blast the interior and underside of it, then prime the underside, paint the underside black, and put bedliner in the interior of the bed.
- Gut the interior of the black dually.
- Remove the cab from the black dually, and blast the underside of it, then prime and paint it black.
- Use aircraft stripper to take the paint off the exterior of bed, cab, and the fenders. I'll have them all apart at this point, so I figured that might be the easiest time to do that. Just trying to figure out if I should go ahead and reassemble it before priming it, or just prime everything while it is apart.
- Reassemble.
- Bodywork (couple of small dents need bondo) including welding up some of the small holes from the tripod style mirrors and the hole in the roof where the cb antenna is currently residing.
- Shoot topcoat.
- Reassemble trim pieces.
