The Willomet Charger

A desecration to Mopar nuts everywhere, this is my protouring, LS-powered, 1970 Dodge Charger; built at my shop, Willomet Motor & Fabrication.
Went to the Pate Swap Meet, and walked out with a TR-6060 transmission.

This was pulled from a 2011 Camaro, so the gear ratios are right for the Charger. I wasn't looking for a 6060 since the shifter is something additional to engineer (compared to the T56 magnum), but this was too good of a deal to pass up.

First batch of chassis steel arrives tomorrow.

Does the shifter end up too far back?
That's unlikely. I still have to place the powertrain in the car, and there is a lot of adjustment in the shift linkage. Also, I'm a tall guy, and the front buckets will be pushed back a little farther than normal.

based on how that linkage works, extending it back shouldn't be too hard.

PS- Thanks for moving it back, I'm tall ya know :deal:

...Got some serious work ahead.
Just the chassis buildout, body mods, suspension setup, build up the powertrain, and body work and paint.
TR6060 strength boost too.
And without the T56 magnum price tag! Supposedly the magnum has all the 6060 innards, but in the T56 case. Like I explained to the wife, I didn't save any money, I'll now just spend that elsewhere in the car.
The TR6060 is a sweet piece. Very fun to drive
My experience has been the same. Glad I got the one with the .57 OD. My CTS-V would cruise at unnecessarily high RPMs, and I have always referenced that experience when thinking about rear end and OD ratios. A three coast cruise requires a tall OD, and after a good shakedown, that will be one of the trips we take.

There's rain in the forecast for tomorrow, so I'll be in the shop with the doors closed; hopefully making progress.

Brace, brace, brace!

I think @76zimmer asked a bit earlier if everything would hold together with all the floor I'd removed. At the time, the answer was 'yes', but I'm about to remove a lot more, so I'm scratching out that old answer and filling in 'absolutely not'.
