Time for a new project, been a loooong time

So after the thrash completed on Feb. 9 we loaded up on Feb 10 for our yearly trip to Dumont sand dunes in Commiefornia.

I'm not staring into the future :rolleyes:I'm getting excited about a high dollar long travel buggy that wheelied up a big dune just outside of camp.:o

You had me scratching my head when I saw that first shot of the whole front end in white though... :D

Any "money shots"??? (i.e. a gratuitous tire roasting burnout to test the supercharger?) :deal:

Great pics, awesome to see your K5 all loaded up and being enjoyed with the kids! I like the heater box/fan setup - nice!
 
Big Block, your truck is awesome. Can you give us some more details and pictures on your front suspension? I dont remember if you said but how much lift are you runnning?
 
Oh man, that thing looks KILLER! You did a really good job with the Al's undercoating, too!
 
Truck is killer and I love that it got romped at Dumont. (It's my favorite pile of Sand). Shy of the wheelies your truck should give those high $$$$$ sand cars a run for their money.

Transparent colors usually work best over a light color base and the reason for the white sealer.

No burn out pics yet, the tune still needs a lot work, it's good at part throttle and at wide open but is a total mess in the transition. As soon as it warms up I'll get some drive time and get it all cleaned up. When I get some throttle response tuned in smoky burn outs should be pretty effortless.:laugh:

I'll take some more pictures of the front end the next time I have it up in the air. As far as lift it's roughly 5 inches in the front and around 6 in the rear.

When are you going to get a thread started on yours?:wink1:

This is the third trip to Dumont for the Blazer and is the main reason I stepped up in the horsepower department. I love Dumont on President's day weekend, the 70 and 80 degree temps are a nice break from the nasty cold and inversion we get around here.
As far as keeping up with long travel buggies; I don't think 5,000 lbs of orange is going to stay anywhere near a 2,000 lb rail,but that's okay since I have a lot more fun than they do (and can fit more people while doing it) for less than a fourth of what most of those guys have tied up.:D
 
Don't sell yourself short so fast. that 5000lbs will go most anywhere in dumont, I know my burb does(Untill she became worn out and tired). I will, ok should, no nevermind WILL have my Blazer up and running by next pres day and we should hook up and romp some sand.
 
I don't have any problems going anywhere I want to go I just don't get there anywhere as fast as the sand rails do.:cool1:
I should be there next year, we always camp at the end of the finger closest to the main dunes. It'd be fun to cruise the dunes with another full size since I'm usually with a group of Jeeps.:deal:
 
My friend was out there that same weekend he said he saw you driving around super nice blazer btw. He also told me the dunes where all rutted out with the rain that had passed through there. It's nice to see another sand guy on here i love taking the burb in the dunes way back and surprising people on rails and quads, How did you get that back here.
 
bigblock, just followed the link over from your cage advice. love the truck man! way more than I think I'll ever go with mine, but I do plan on putting a 6.0 in at some point so I may pick your brain a bit. besides, you're only 1/2 drive from me so I can always show up crying if it gets too bad. ;)

The front hubs and the axle they are attached to came from a 06ish Super Duty. They're kinda cool because you can manually lock them or connect the ford vacuum solenoid and lock/unlock them with a push of a button, plus they are 35 spline.

FYI - WARN makes those hubs for Ford
