TnA Engine Crossmember Kit

I might be able to help with a Frame section from a pre 73 (67-72) trucks.

That is, if you are wanting to compare or make some of those.

We will have to talk about that - that would be pretty cool.

Darren- have you built one of these for a 1-ton? If not, what would you need to do so?

I one ton is.the same

Btw. I never said how awesome these are. Finally got mine painted and ready to.go on. This was one step I wanted to.do.before I.welded up trans crossmember

They truly are wicked awesome. For my time to build something equally as strong, I was super glad I paid to have one premade that took very little time to install.... And they look way cool :waytogo:

I guess while your at it, price for the crossmember and motor mounts to 67337 business.

Is there a number where I can reach you I would like one of these engine crossmembers for my 79 k5 with a 5.3

I don't give out my number normally, because, well, I can't normally answer it, lol! The best way to reach me on my phone is by email: [email protected]
If there is something we need to discuss further that can't be done via email we can exchange numbers there.

Hey Darren,
You still making these bad boys? I tried going through your website to check availability, pricing, and whatnot but it's saying it's an invalid host name:confused:... I'm working on gathering up parts for my LSx swap and would love to get my hands on your cross member and engine mounts:bow:

Hey Anthony,
Yes, I am still making the engine crossmember kit - the newer design that replaces the factory frame "triangles". I am currently under the gun to get an LS swap set of motor mounts built as I am typing this, that will work directly with the crossmember. The only thing that we noticed on this particular swap is that there is no way to run the factory low-mount AC compressor as it contacts the frame and also the engine crossmember to a severe point. Everything else seems to clear okay though. I'm going to have to trim just a little bit of the frame where we blocked off the exhaust manifold's EGR port, and although the exhaust manifolds both clear the frame in the back, I might trim a little bit there too just for a little extra clearance. Here are some pics:

Driver's Side Exhaust manifold - it actually fits inside the framerail at the flange, but I fear that I'll have to trim the lower part of the frame in order to get nuts onto the exhaust manifold.

Passenger's Side Exhaust manifold clears fairly well really, which is contradictory to what the customer has read on the forums, lol. I might trim just a bit for socket clearance for the manifold nuts. Also, you can just see the EGR block-off plate clearance issue:

Overall view of the LS sitting in there - the fan centerline is currently about 1/4" higher than the original 350's centerline, and once the motor mounts are fabb'ed up it should end up being close to perfectly centered. This motor sits in there really nice, and seems like it sits nice and low in the frame. There is still over an inch of clearance to the crossmember underneath the oil pan too!

What do you offer for the lower panhard mount on the axle housing?

I have a few different designs available, depending on your axle/spring/steering setup. If you are interested, PM me what you have for a setup and I'll let you know what I can do for you. They are ALL weld-on mounts for the axle-side, so you would have to be able to weld 1/4" steel to your axle tubes.

Sweet I'm glad to hear you're still making the crossmembers and are trying to make something for us LS swap guys :waytogo:

I've been scouring the internet for a few months researching these swaps in the square bodies and so far I haven't found anybody that has come up with a good solution for the A/C. Some people just notch the frame which IMO is not a good idea especially in a 4x4 that will flex on the trail. The only other solution I've run across is modifying a junkyard A/C bracket like this http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/ltx-lsx/461721-made-my-own-ac.html or buying an aftermarket bracket like this http://www.holley.com/20-133.asp to relocate the A/C compressor up high on the passenger side. Hopefully those links will help you out with the swap and maybe give you some ideas so you can create your own version that we can buy once you have it figured out

Yeah, in my research, the only real logical option in our trucks are the brackets that mount the compressor up high on the passenger's side also. Notching the frame for the factory compressor isn't an option in the trucks, due to the length of the compressor and the interference with not only the frame but the engine crossmember too. I don't think that notching both at the same time is a good idea at all. The bracket kits that I've found so far use a different compressor than the factory one that comes with the LS, which adds yet another item to purchase if keeping the AC system. I might look into making a different option for all you guys, but it's not high on the list at the moment. I'll keep you posted though!
