Transmission just lost 3rd gear

no i had to take a break, tomorrow ill finish and start it
drive shaft , converter bolts and trans cooler + wiring then fluids

driveshafts are in, both cross-members, torque converter bolts are in and i have to switch the cooler and wire it fill with fluid and fire it up

remember dont fill trans more than 1/2 before start . i have seen them burp air and push fluid out the dip stick tube and make a MASSIVE mess .

and you did fill 1qrt in the convt before install correct ?

yes and i have to wire the trans cooler fan then ad fluid had to take a break and eat

wired to a toggle switch for trany cooler fan filled and fired it up. drove got gat when cold was on cold line when i drove it was a little over guess cause it got hot and expanded so tomorrow ill drain a pint out and go from there.
only thing is i dont know how to adjust the universal kick down cable

There is a process for that. I can tell you it doesn’t take long to burn up a new tranny if it ain’t right. Here is link to the instructions from Summit.

easy hook it all up, push/unlock the release slide the center of sheath in (push towards firewall) while still unlocked wide open throttle. The center of sheath should move out some while at wide open. lock the adjustment your done.

What I always did is pop the thing up go full throttle and pop thing down then your good

Those are just the detents. Should still be a button to push and let it slide and then lock.

yes that is the adjustment, if you unlock the tab behind the bracket the screw looking part can side in and out of main sheath. Start with pushed all the way in, open the throttle have someone floor the pedal,(engine off) then lock the tab you should see some of the screw looking part sticking out. This will adjust your kick down.
