Truckasaurus. The rebirth and resurrection of a fallen legend

so the panorama kinda warped my truck a little. Don't worry the frame and axles aren't bent. I did get the mufflers (kinda generous term for them) installed today. First of all it was awesome to have someone else work on my truck and get all greasy while I sat back. Ha ha. Plus he did a much better job than I could have done.

Drives so awesome. With the exhaust leak it was running really rich and just not that strong down low. Now it pulls like a beast and screams at full throttle. soooooo much fun. I am digging this

Is all of the exhaust welded with no bolt together joints? What if you need to remove it to work on something?

That said, post an audio clip, I'd like to hear those mufflers.

yea when I picked it up I noticed that it wasn't sectioned at all. Will be a PITA if I ever need to remove it. Then again, I could just cut it to drop it. At this point thinking about removing anything of substance on my truck is not a fun thought. I am burned out.

Will try and get a clip up this weekend. Trust me. It is loud. But awesome. I didn't build this truck to be quiet and civilized, I built it to be obnoxious, in your face, loud, and awesome. My kids freaking dig it and it makes me smile. Worth it imo.

If you had to take the exhaust off just cut it and weld flanges on. Im definitely going with a super 10 on my exhaust after hearing a few trucks with them.

I have a already set off a few car alarms. Ha ha. It is super loud if you romp it but just driving it really isn't bad. No drone on the freeway either.

They really wouldn't fit anywhere else and so I got the headers coated to keep the heat in the pipe as much as I could.

Although there supposed to be a few inches behind the collectors they should be fine. Good call on the header coating. Are you going to BAR inspection yet? They may give you some guff about the location.

Can you post the name of those square led lights? I need some undercarriage lighting.

I don't need a smog until 2017 so I have some time. I plan on going down to the ref prior to my check to have him look it over and tell me what he sees. Figure if I am proactive and a good guy about it that will help.

These are the LED's I got. I haven't finished the whole undercarriage yet, but they are great.

Quick video of the exhaust. Sounds good imo. Can be loud but isn't too crazy

Plus family approved.

Sounds good on the smog. Thats definitely the way to handle it. Word is on the street your area has some pretty decent bar guys. I did a lot of research on them when I was trying to see if I could put an ls1 in a miata.

Definitely gonna get a bunch of those leds. How did you attach them?

They are sticky backed but I put a self tapping screw in there too. Make sure to wire them in parallel not series so when you inevitably destroy one they don't all go out.

Yeah I see they have some mounting tabs. Ill go that route. Definitely wiring them up parallel. I would have known nothing about that before my dc electronics class I just finished up!

ya, I know. Don't think it should be too tough to pass what I got. Maybe I am delusional.

Did about 100 miles of freeway with the truck today. It is loud. Like really loud. Wind noise, engine noise, truck noise. I have contemplated noise cancelling headsets and intercom for the family and that seems inevitable if I want them to road trip with the truck.

Also have a PS leak somewhere. I have been leaking fluid from what looks like the PSC resi. Kinda strange but I am still trying to track it down.

Oh, and I was dreaming about 15 mpg. I would be surprised to see 12 MPG right now.
