Two 86 F350 4x4s Mayo & Ketchup

Yeah the EEC IV system is more complicated than the tbi or c3 systems of gm. The Veriable Venturi carb was a pain. Mostly choke issues, but they could be made to work.
Some of the sensors are getting hard to find. You almost have to up date to modern Ford drive train, os ls swap it lol.
Iirc the tank selector valve was tough get in the 90's, maybe the Chinese are repopping them now.

If you have to do tank work on the dual tank setups you can convert to a single 38 gal bronco tank pretty easy. There's videos on YouTube. The inertia switches can be bypassed also. Mine is on my little '95 Mazda truck. It has a short somewhere in the system and I just ran a new fuel pump wire from the relay to the pump.

Short version, the red one is now yard driveable.

So, the license plates on the red truck [henceforth known as "Ketchup"] expired in 08.
The fuel smelled just as old.

I pulled the plugs and misted some Marvel oil Wednesday night. I threw a battery in yesterday and after making sure it would crank over changed the oil and filter. It fired off on starting fluid so things were looking good.
Today I rigged up a temporary fuel tank and electric pump and it started almost too fast. A quick check to make sure the transmission worked [it does] but as expected the carb was a leaker. I actually had another carb that I had forgotten about when I had Zoomad rebuild the one on the white truck [henceforth known as "Mayo"] so on it went.

Drive time......
Transfer case and hubs work great, has a small rear main leak {I'm betting that does not self fix} none of the gauges or the headlights work but wipers, radio and dome light do so all in all things are looking good.

2 questions for those still reading.
Amazon has about a half dozen cheepy HEI style distributors for 460s. Like $50 and $60 cheep, can these be any good?
Also what is up with having a track rod on the front suspension? Massive leafs really need more location help?

Jeep YJs, used a track bar with leafs, I always took them off

I removed and flushed the rear tank, installed a new in tank electric pump, and cleaned the fuel lines.
Ketchup is now running on it's own fuel system instead of the rigged up generator gas tank.
I bypassed the selector valve until I scrounge up a new one.

@sweetk30
The only Fisher I have at work is not gonna be cost effective to refurb. Any other plows gonna be plug and play without melting metal?
All the Western/Meyers I've measured were no bueno, a Northman looks close but it is a bit buried and haven't been able to get a good measurement. Pin size is 1" and plow receiver is aprox 24.375" center to center.

fisher / western same parent company . . . the western will be the closest by just moving the ears and burn them back in place . i have done it before .

So I ended up cutting off the mounts on a 7.6 Meyer I had, burned some new ones on and got it hooked up and working last weekend. Still have to tweak a couple of small things but it is on and functional.

Today I scored a complete 10' steel dump flat bed with a dual wheel trailer included. Not sure yet if I am going to use the bed or air-arc off the dump setup and use it on an 8' bed I already have. The dump setup checked off all the boxes I planned on using, removable pins on the rear hinge, fully grease-able on all pivot points and the hydraulic pump/cylinder is both power up and down.

good yellow to bad yellow .......... not sure how to take this match up . . . :doah:
I am keeping my eyes open for something bigger/better. There is a 10'on FBMP I could possibly shorten to an 8.6 or 9'
I do have a 8' at work, a Northman I believe, but it needs a new cutting edge, a couple of springs and I'm not sure what shape the cylinders are in.
This will initially just be used to do my driveway (short) and side walk (very long).

I have been sick this weekend so not much got accomplished. I decided to use the hoist on the 8.6' bed. I got it removed from the 10' and mocked into place. Then flipped the 8' bed and removed the stock mounts.
It is mocked into place and I am now modifying the rear pivot hinges.

I have been chewing away on the to do list.
Bed is mounted along with led tail lights, mudflaps, hydro-pump mount, inside controls for the bed, fuel filler neck support, receiver hitch etc... I also fabbed up a head ache rack but I need to take it home to finish welding with my wire feed.
I have actually already bought the paint for the cab and bed but that probably will not happen until springtime.

Super clean glass ..... 3 coats of rain-x 5 min dry between each . Wet towl buff haze off at end .

Do this on my plow truck and hardle need wipers .

And strap your self down 700 -1,000 lbs on the bed over the axle . You will be amazed .

@Capt Ron 4 springs = 8ft and up to 9ft . measure the year to ear gap on your current truck frame . need to be able to fit 25.5" width in there . if different then the frame on your truck is for 7'6" down smaller plows .

and dam nice price for that condition of a plow if nothing else hidding .
