Update on my junk!! (Truggy it)

I really like the way the rear is designed. When I bob the bed I want to do something like that! Not sure when that is going to happen though

Keep those pics coming in!

Looks like you're doing about what I had in mind. I'm wondering what all of the factory Blazer you still have left in there? I'm new to Blazers, but not to the 4x4 world...

I was thinking of riping pretty much all of the body off the truck, cleaning up the frame and going from there. Figured I'd start with a pre-fabed roll cage of sorts, and build off of it. I'm interested to see where the radiator winds up (I was thinking about putting it in the rear to aviod getting it plugged up with mud, etc). I also plan on doing 4 seats instead of 2 (wife and kiddo's).

I've got some buddy's of mine that are talking about wanting to do a "custom" 4 link set up with coil overs front and rear.... what suspension are you running, axles, tranny, gears, tires, etc. Did you chop any of the frame?

Looking closer at the pics, it looks like you've got the factory fire wall still in place, and in others it looks like it's gone... are you planning to re-use the factory firewall or go with something you've made? Any chance you've kept track of the cost of the build? If so, hit me with a PM if you'd rather not post it. I'm really anxious to learn / know more about these "truggy's."

Sorry this got a bit long winded. Anyone point me in the right direction to find out some more info on "truggy's?" TIA

Well lets see.
The radiator is going to be where it is pictured just need to make the mounts.
As for whats left of the blazer. the "lower" part of the floor is there, the part right before it goes up tp the back part.
The firewall has had the sides cut off as well as about 8" off the top. The only reason I kept the firewall was I didnt feel like re-doing all the mounts for the MC and pedals.
Other then that there is just the K5 frame.
My suspension is 52's up front with 56's out back with a shackle flip.
The frame is cut off right at the spring hangers for max. aproach and departure angles.
I also added zero rates up front to push the axle 1.5" extra forward for a total 3.5" forward over stock.
The rear 56's add 4" to the rear wheelbase. My wheelbase is at 114", stock is 106.5".
As for drivetrain I am running a GM crate 350 mated to a rebuilt 700r4 connected to a 208 t-case.
The t-case is pushed up 2" over stock for better belly clearance.
D60 front with 5.13's, crossover, hydro assist, welded, 35 spline outers with flanges.
14bff rear, detroit, 5.13's, disked.
42" iroks on 15x10 wheels.
Its also running on propane.

As for the cost well I have dont some mods along the way such as 35 spline outers, propane, electric fan. but if you just took a blazer and didnt buy any goodies I have about $160 in tube and prolly $20 in cut off wheels:D
but I have prolly about $800 in the mods above.

Any more questions feel free to ask:D

Been busting ass this past week, the tube work is basically done excpet for around the radiator which I need to mount before I can finish it.
For the full build check here, the tube work is near the end.

Looks awesome. How long/far do you think the tanks will last?

Looks sweeet. You plan on adding any sheet metal to it? Any other cozmetic plans?
Eventually id like to do flat skins from front to back but thats later on. I need to have the truck finished by the end of the month so its balls to the walls to get it done.
But yes I do plan to skin it out.

MMMMM, triangulation!! I really like how you have built it. i personaly couldnt hack off the body, but the tube looks great!

How much cheaper/expensive is it to run propane vs. gasoline? Also what are the benefits of it?

Its about $1.50-$2.00 a gallon and you will burn about the same as gas so its a little cheaper. Main benefit is offroad. Its a sealed unit so there is no chance of leakage if you roll or flop. But the best thing is that it will run at ANY angle:D It also only uses 1 wire to use it also.
