Very Newb question here...

Arlight i tried looking at both the pass side front and the drivers side rear, from on top of the engine and from underneath. In both cases, theres a rectangular raised section of the block right below the heads to the direct side of the exhaust manifolds. There is no depression or anything sticking out on these little rectangles, i tried wiping them down too. I also tried to get at the other corners but with no luck. Damn, apparently my block has no numbers on it. Very very very agrivating. I mean i know its probably not a big deal but im still curious. thanks for the help

okay so these are the numbers i got and where: the number 880 was on the bottom sides on the block, both sides. right below the 880 on the driver side was 627n and right below that was 29. Not that it prpb means anythong but on the exhaust mani on the drivers side is GM then 14079295, then below that 23 and what looks like a U. Probably no help right? Also out of curiosity i saw the marking md8 on the pass sie of the tranny. what does it mean? thanks. I guess i wont find anything else unless i pull the motor, which isnt an option. Thanks fr the help.
