Nope. This compressor it designed to inflate tires. You would need to wire the compressor to a pressure switch, store some of the air in a tank, and then regulate the output from the tank to the ARB. (Which is exactly how the ARB compressor works).

I ordered mine online and am going to pick it up at the local Schucks after work if it really is there. If they have it, I'll try it out tonight to see how fast it will inflate my flat 36x12.5 TSL. If it works well enough, I'll hard mount it into my rig. I don't have an ARB yet, but I do air down on trail almost every time, so it will be cool to be able to air myself back up!

I picked up three of the phantom models today. I HELLA lucked out!! I called the store TWICE before I ordered online and talked to 2 different people, neither could find em, one guy even looked in places "they shouldnt be" and couldnt find 'em.

Ok, I bought one last night and took it home to recreate the test that was linked to the first post. I am a R&D Engineer by trade, so the numbers have to be true and accurate for me to believe ANYTHING.

I was VERY impressed. I aired up my left front 36x12.50x15 TSL Radial from 0 psi to 32 psi in 4 minutes with the valve core in. It takes my large compressor (50 gal tank) 3 minutes to accomplish the same thing. I am very impressed with this little unit. It's worth the $27 I paid for it. I will be hardwiring it into my rig.

I don't really care for the hose setup and the air filter unit, but those can be replaced for a couple bux. I will probably get a small air tank to mount under the rig and hook it up like the ARB compressor since I will be running an ARB up front in the near future.

Also, the unit does get hot. I went to disconnect the hose right after I shut it off. I got a little "hello" from it. It gets hot enough airing up a tire that you will want to wear gloves to discconect the hose. I have a little mark on my hand from grabbing it. I guess I should have paid attention to the part of the instructions that say to "let the unit cool down. Then disconnect the hose..." Ouch.

I'll see how it does on the trail over the long run, but it'll sure beat the heck out of having to bum air off one of my buddies so I can drive back home!

When I talked to the store manager and explained what was going on with this thread, he was all over getting in as many as needed. I had to set up a business account with them to get him to order in quantities. Since I have to run this through BWP, and I may have to spend some time running around to get them I'll need to add a couple bux to cover my time (nothing too much I promise!), but if anyone wants them, we can get them.

Here is the word from Q Industries: Parts America has been selling the compressors at HALF OF THEIR COST just to move the mv50. Their retail price is 69.99. The price 4wp is selling them for. QI knows the market for their compressor has grown, but PartsAmerica has put them in a bad position because now, everybody thinks they are jacking the price up. The strenght of the dollar has changed in China, so now it is more expensive for them to import the compressors.
If you can find these locally, buy them. The price will never be this low again. I believe shane74 has a few of these. I am not going to be able to buy them in any quantity and sell them for much less than 4wp. Mabey 7 dollars. I know it's hard to see them for $25.00 one place and then spend 60-70 somewhere else. I believe the compressor is worth it. Just add a airbrake tank from a semi and a cutoff switch and you have a killer onboard air system that is easy to install and still under a hundred bucks. If there are enough people that want one I will buy a pallett (64 units) and save you guys what I can. Shipping to me and then to you is the killer. I can probably sell these for 62.00 shipped (lower 498) and not make a dollar per.

Yep. It is exactly as Leper stated. Parts America (Shcucks, Kragen, Checkers, etc.) has been selling them as a "loss leader" to generate sales and interest. Then they will up the price on them. I have 10 units coming to me right now if anyone wants one. I have 2 spoken for already, but that will leave 8 left. Once I found out what was going on, I snagged as many as I could. If no one here wants them, I'll be posting them on other boards and ebay. I know on ebay they are going for $75 plus shipping.

Has anybody put a different output fitting on one of these yet? It comes with a non-standard quick-connect as far as I can tell. I was thinking of just unscrewing this fitting from the compressor and putting a standard on in. Anybody have a solution that has worked?

I will be putting on a standard quick connect. It should be easy. It looks like it's threaded for 1/8" NPT, so you may need an adapter, but I'd rather have the standard coupling.
