Welp, the 2019 Chevy Blazer dropped today...

It's weird watching the current Chevy commercial with Trax, Traverse and Equinox all lined up and realizing they're just sticking another CUV into that lineup.

That's why I don't understand their rationale for this blazer. It doesn't do anything that all their other station wagons don't already do.

IDK why it would be so hard for them to take a Colorado and make it a 2 door, 2 row suv. I'd buy one right now if it came w/ the mini d'max.

Bad news,,I'm at chevy right noe and there here,,you the 2019 blazers. Are here for 37,195.00

That's why there are so many CUVs for sale. They're just cars/minivans, but sell for 25% more.

This cracks me up..
They took the new Blazer down.. and put a Traverse in it's place.
Can anyone even tell them apart?

I think they missed the point.
People are pissed at GM closing plants in the US and Canada.
I don't understand this comment:

"We want people to enjoy baseball without distractions, so we are going to replace the Chevrolet Blazer with a Chevrolet Traverse at the Comerica Fountain," said Cain in a statement. "American workers contribute significantly to the success of the Chevrolet Blazer. The Blazer generates more than half a billion dollars into the U.S. manufacturing economy each year, helping support thousands of good-paying U.S. jobs."

How can he say "each year" when it just came out???

Actually, let's back up and discuss:

1) IF GMC gets their version of this, would they call it "Jimmy?" Why or why not would they get the model? ( Because all along chevy and gmc got the exact same models up to and including heavy duty class 8 trucks) And why or why not would they name it, "Jimmy?"

2) Why was GMC kept and Pontiac dropped? If anything GMC was more redundant to chevrolet than pontiac?

3) Could pontiac be GMC's "boutique brand?" (Which is ironic, because usually GMC was BOP's truck "add-on" line, but you already knew that.....)

They shoulda dropped the Buick line and kept the Pontiac line. At the time Pontiac had far more sales here than Buick did. I thought I'd read they kept Buick solely on the bet that the Chinese market would buy the Buicks for the name...

GMC, could almost be modified a bit - they're slightly more upscale than the chevy brand - but could use more work to really show that off..

I liked the Buicks and Pontiacs I had better than the similar Chevrolet cars--they felt better built and more luxurious ,the Chevy's were like the "bargain brand" in comparison..As a parts man,I rarely ever got calls for engine parts for Buicks,Pontiacs,Caddy and Olds engines as far as internal parts--either no one rebuilt them,or they never needed to be..

Never had an Oldsmobile, but like the Buick & Pontiacs, they too seemed more upscale than a similar bodied Chevy..
I'd actually like a Buick Skylark,Pontiac Lemans, or a Cutlass over a Chevelle--basically the same car,but they seemed better quality..

Because GMC is a truck line. And anyone with half a brain knows the only thing this country is hungry for is trucks.

That's basically what they have been doing for years you have been able to get a Denali for years, but Chevy didn't have the "high country" until just recently.

Right, but GMC has the acadia, which is the same as the traverse? And then, the terrain and i'm not sure which that one matches up with?

i feel GMC is a trend company, not a truck company anymore. Because GM isn't run by real men any more.

Therefore, i feel it's entirely conceivable that Pontiac could become GMC's "boutique" line; You know how chevy had "geo" for a while?

It doesn't matter what the badging is.
Arcadia, transverse, Sierra, Silverado, etc, etc.

The only thing the general (or Dodge/Ford) cares about is selling trucks.

Ford brags about how they have the number one best selling truck, but actually if you add GMC/ Chevy I am pretty sure the numbers far exceed Ford. (At least the last I knew)....

And who said anything about real men. New trucks are 4 door shortboxs and make up the landscape of all of suburbia.

Real men drive regular cab longboxes
