Why PM? I want the hook up, I've got an acura RSX (cool but limited) and a hover craft that doesn't really work all that well....

Are they the hobby level r.c. or are they a Radio Shack setup? If they are the Radio Shack setup there's nothing I can do for ya' if it's a hobby level setup then post up what vehicle it is, unlike full size stuff in the hobby level of r.c.'s bodies are so easily changed it would be like me saying I have a chevy truck and I want to know if 35's will fit with a 4" lift, you could guess but you really need more information. Catch my drift?

RSX radio shack special for me. :haha:
I used to work there so it worked out for me, had allot of fun with it back in my day too. :D
I do have an off road buggy kind of thing from RS that was just as fast but I could use for parts.
But do I relly have to have an RC to build a truck? :what:
I want that black tube one that doesn't have the wheels sticking out 72 miles. Then I'd probably hang some blazer body pannels on it and put it on the shelf to never be used again. :saweet:

cool man, what motors and other electronics are you planning on running? 4ws or just sticking w/ front for now?

Straight outta 1990 - a set of Trinity Matched Madness motors and a Novak 610RV ESC. Radio will be either an old or new Futaba 2ch pistol (bought the new one a couple years ago, before I re-discovered the old, missing-for-8-years one...). I haven't decided yet whether I want to go 4ws with 2 servos and a Y-cable, or just stick with 2ws. Probably go 2ws to start with, since my budget for this is so limited. I'm gonna trim the stops on the knuckles to get better turn radius regardless.

Got the rest of the suspension links cut yesterday; gotta trim 'em to final length, drill & tap the ends, and Loctite the screws in for the Traxxas Revo rodends. Bent the lower tube "framerails" at the rear, to intersect the halo for the bed-type-area. I really need to start tacking this stuff together, but I'm out of gas for my welder and can't afford a refill this week. Sucks being broke...

Here's just the thing, a lot of people I know have them and for a beater that you could cosmetically change around it's perfect.

Called a Nylint Crawler, great little rigs. You can find them at Wally World and online everywhere.

That all sounds good, only thing I wouldn't do is the 4ws via a y harness. For one if you just plug it in you will turn way to tight and in order to make them turn the other way (crab walk) you would have to order a reversing y harness which costs money and still doesn't solve the problem.

For now I would go w/ 2ws if you can't afford for the time being to go all out. When you decide to do it though, this is how I did it for cheap!

Get this stuff...

3 Ch. Transmitter
3 Ch. Receiver
3 Position Center "Off" toggle switch

all of which can be had for really cheap online since guys will upgrade the radio system in their Traxxas T/E-Maxx's and sell them for dirt cheap.

Basiclly pop open the Transmitter and unsolder the three wires going to the red two position switch. Pull out the red switch. Put in the new radio shack switch and solder the wires back on using some small capacitors in-between the posts to stop any glitching from RF.
Try it out!

That's what I did and it worked great. Now you will have the steering wheel for your front steer that you use all the time, the toggle switch which can go right/left or center for the rear steer and your normal throttle/brake setup all for under $60 in most cases since you can find that stuff for dirt cheap online.

Hey guys, I don't know if anyone here wants an RC, but cannot afford one.... I got a Clod Buster with the ripper chassis conversion kit, I barely run it, and I need the shelf space. 200 bucks, and i'll give you the rolling chassis.
