Only thing I can think off that might be stuck in the Suez that I would be interested in, is Ethiopian coffee. Will substitute Costa Rica coffee till then.:waytogo:
I've been through that ditch twice and I concur about the coffee. Ethiopian is good stuff.

Today got a late start. Fuel tank is out I got 1 gas can may be 3ish gls out of tank. Pump was struggling to do just a dribble.
All total I got over 30 gl, that tank had almost 60 miles out it, best milage I have managed is 9.6 mpg. Tank should be empty. There is at least 3 gl probably 4 by the weight. might need to extend the pick up tube, that's a lot to leave in the tank.
6 of 8, 10 body bolts undone.
Pulled the carpet from rear have some light rusty spots I'll need to deal with.
Up on jack stands, wheels off, all nuts and bolts well oiled, with penetrate oil.
Just realized drilling the frame for the 56" springs, the spare tire well will be in the way. I am going to see if I can get a pilot hole from the outside then go big from inside.

Super Duty shaft is 2" pilot center on the 1350 double cardone shaft. That is for the front shaft stock.

That's what I thought, I have heard rumors of some 2 3/8" pilot SD shafts out there (Denny's even has parts listings). Since this from Flea bay I'm gonna wait till it arrives. I made it to Rialto today, only 15 miles east of my house, will go 8 miles west of my house tomorrow or Monday, then out for delivery maybe Tuesday.

Today I got the right side mocked up. Knocked off the rear spring hanger drilled 6 pilot holes up sized to 7/16" nailed all 6, no adjustments. Was so hard on me to drill those, I stopped and look at magnetic drill presses, to spendy, and won't get here in time. Drill those holes was hard on my Dewalt 18v 1/2 chuck drill motor. I started the second pilot hole after a battery change, it started smoking, and glowing. put that in the waste electronics heap. Anyone need 2 Dewalt 18v batteries ? Got out my corded Craftsman 1/2" drill motor to finish the job.
Got the spring, 56" 22-547 purchased months ago, in the front left rear hang off. got the center bolt in, u bolts finger tight. Went to put the rear hanger back up rear of the spring was to high, the shock was limiting it. take the shock loose, get the hanger and shackle up spring in. Went from 12.5" full droop to 14.75. Shock are 25" full extension, looks like I need 29" 30" would probably be better.
ORD flip kit is nice bracket are all beefy, good welds. The hardware, 7/16" cap screws, grade 8, nice plating, good grade 8 prevailing torque lock nuts. They missed with flat washers. I am not sure what size they are, am thinking 12 mm, but their not 7/16", and supper thin. Yes they are F436, structural grade, just the wrong size. My anal retentive ass is going to get new ones.

Before I drilled the bracket holes I pulled the spare tire well out. I knew someone had done some metal work in the corner, I thought maybe a fender bender repair. It appears the metal work was to make the spare tire well wider. I am not why when I got the truck the spare was stock bias ply. Is some rust on the bottom will get it all cleaned and same treatment the rear floor is getting. Got to figure out a good seam sealer to put it back.

Had to cut my tail pipe it and the shackle wanted to occupy the same place. Exhaust has needed a redo since the 700r4 went in. he front shaft will hit the right cross over.
I think I'd like to do right side 2.25 tube, remove the exhaust valve on right manifold, down the right frame, cross over behind the T case merge into 3" tube to muffler then out side behind the axle.
Or dual 2.5" the a merge, like a H pipe but no 90* connections, behind the t case. then dual mufflers exit out side behind the axle.

I finished the left side, tires on set her on the ground and ... um.... i think I over did it. This is ORD 4" shackle flip ORD 4.5" hd shackle, and 56" 2600 lb stock 1 ton springs.

The ride height 12.5" between the axle tube and the bottom of the bump stop bracket. That is the same 12.5" I had a full droop with the old set up.

I don't want leave it like this is to tall. The way I see it. (with only 30 minutes to think on it)
Option 1
I can try and pull 1 or probably 2 leafs, and see. This spring pack is 3/4" thicker than the stock 3/4 burb 52" pack.
Option 2
Change the flip bracket from 4" to 2.5"
Option 3 lift the front to match get bigger tires and boost the Old Lady by the butt into the truck every time, not a horrible thing, only very expensive, and I have an early Bronco and a Chevelle both demanding attention.
anyone have 2.5" flip brackets they want to sell or trade for a 4"

On another note Fedex finally delivered my SD drive shaft. Sticking out of the box and missing a trunnion cap. When I took it out of the box something loose inside the tube. Sounds like a chime when turn one or the other up. Good thing it will be re-tubed for my use. I wonder what the hell is inside that could come loose.
going to contact the ebay seller see what he has to say I think was a crappy packaging job more than fedex F'n it up, cause you know they are going to treat it like garbage.

Did I install the brackets right for 56" springs. I move the bracket back 4" on the frame, with the shackle bolt hole angled towards the front. Should I have left them in the original spot with the shackle bolt hole angled toward the rear?

If i remember correctly, they go in the stock hanger holes, 52's shackle hole goes forward, 56's, you swap the brackets side to side and there hole goes to the rear, but still in the factory holes.

I am going to try this first. and see what happens.

I switched the brackets right to left. It is 1/4" lower than before, measured in same spot bump stop bracket to axle tube.
Does the shackle angle look right?

37" would solve it. Anyone want to trade for 33's :pimp:

It needs to be this orientation but 4" forward in the original location.
The shackle needs to be trailing backwards

I can do that. Getting a work out.
Pulled 2 bottom leafs, am at 11" now. Better.
Will move brackets forward and see.

Ok brackets moved forward to original holes. Is now 10 3/4" axle tube to bump brackets.
Get the tank a bumper back on it will settle a little more. I think I'm good with this. Have to try it.
I have 12" travel bilstein otw from ord, they said 2 weeks lead time they shipped the same day I ordered them. Those max out at 29+ collapse at just under 18", I am at 25" ride hight at the shock mounts. What do you guys think about the shocks or the current set up.

Bank account needs to recover 1st. Retired now, no Overtime for truck parts.
When I worked I bought a bunch of parts and never got to install. Shackle flip kit and springs 2019ish.
Now I have time to do the work.
Oh well it will all work out

I think you should be good with those shocks for driving and occasional off the beaten path.
If you wanted more flex you should have more droop than stuff, you will have 4" droop and 7" stuff.

I forgot to meassure with the axle hanging, after the last change, I'll do that tomorrow. see how much droop i need. The old shocks maxed at 25" with the lift block and stock springs.
