I don't see the point of waiting on you to get out of the way on the trail while you are stuck in front of me with broke 60F. /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif

I guess it depends how you refer to "rebuild" your Dana 60.
To me that means replacing everything, wheel bearings, hubs, carrier and pinion bearings, ring and pinion set, kingpins, carrier if you're locking, the whole nine yards.
I did the brakes on mine, turned rotors, replaced calipers/pads, repacked wheelbearings and installed with new seals, and generally inspected everything and buttoned it back up. To me that is not "rebuilding" an axle, simply inspecting it and doing the basics. And of course I bolted in Sky's crossover steering arrangement to connect the dots. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
Obviously if I felt more was necessary, and if I had the money, I would have preferred to put a detroit in it and do the 35 spline upgrade at the same time. I'm going to run it as is for now and upgrade as I go. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
I don't think what I've done is wrong or a hack job, just more economical. Makes no sense to throw away a perfectly good ring and pinion if you ask me.
