What did you guys pay for D60 front?

I paid 5000.00 for mines, but it came with a '88 V-30 with a TBI 454,Th400,205, & 14 bolt with DL & 4:56's /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif

about 40 bucks... IIRC, i paid 60$ for my 2003 ford PSD D60 housing, 4 rotors and 4 loaded calipers from a 9.75" rear end and 2 8.8" rear rotors..

I don't see the point of waiting on you to get out of the way on the trail while you are stuck in front of me with broke 60F. /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif

I guess it depends how you refer to "rebuild" your Dana 60.

To me that means replacing everything, wheel bearings, hubs, carrier and pinion bearings, ring and pinion set, kingpins, carrier if you're locking, the whole nine yards.

I did the brakes on mine, turned rotors, replaced calipers/pads, repacked wheelbearings and installed with new seals, and generally inspected everything and buttoned it back up. To me that is not "rebuilding" an axle, simply inspecting it and doing the basics. And of course I bolted in Sky's crossover steering arrangement to connect the dots. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Obviously if I felt more was necessary, and if I had the money, I would have preferred to put a detroit in it and do the 35 spline upgrade at the same time. I'm going to run it as is for now and upgrade as I go. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I don't think what I've done is wrong or a hack job, just more economical. Makes no sense to throw away a perfectly good ring and pinion if you ask me.

Figure its about time I reply to this thread too...

I paid $800 and an old, bald set of 38's for my 60. An '84 4.56 CUCV D60 with 74K miles, pulled from a running truck. In this condition-

$2k for 60/14 combo. Both rebuilt (new seals, joints etc...), locked rear, 4.56 gears, rear disc brakes, 35 spline front, all and all, basically what I would have paid for the goodies to get it there, so for me, not over priced.

I'm just giving you chit /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif Even a fully rebuilt 60 breaks. I saw one break a while back. The shafts only had 4 runs on them. He was running 42's and 35 spline all the way ou with a detroit. It happens, rebuilt or not!

Dana 60's #1-3. Came under 1-ton trucks I still own. It gets confusing from there on as to value into them, with all the swapping and trading that has occured with them since.

Dana 60#4. Basically swapped out a Dana 44 for it (then traded off the truck the 60 came out of as a 3/4 ton).

Dana 60#5. $200. (after selling the rest of the parts off the truck. I also kept a gear vendors overdrive and an SM465 from the truck.)
