What do you guys think?

that hay bed is staying in Cali.. and the outer dually rims will be off to keep the width down too...

I still get calls almost 2 years later wanting to know if I still need it shipped :eek1:

The thing that took me the longest was finding a driver that was going from San Diego and driving the border all the way to Florida....you shouldn't have near as hard time finding somebody going your way.

yeah, i'm hopefully this is a somewhat common route.. but escalating gas prices certainly aren't helping the situation...

What kind of bed is on that right now...what's it used for? and where are you going to put it :eek1:

Is that a Blazer in the back of that?
that in the back is a blazer, frame and tub with top.
It was a construction truck with a 20' rack for pipe and stuff, and a liftgate in the back.
I am keeping those and making it into a trailer.
It will be better for me that way, I can now build my 1991 crew cab the way I want it and not feel bad about cutting into a nice clean truck.:thumb:

Yeah...that could be a factor...it was about $3.00 a gallon in August 2010 when mine was shipped...it's almost a dollar higher now....thanks Obama...

And the prices from northern CA to NJ are better than the other way back here, if you do some bidding you should be under $1300 especially with the standard width, you still will have the length at I believe right at 20' :dunno:

Hmmm, I was hoping you would end up in a dodge but I can't knock ya' for going back to a CC chevy. Cummins swaps are getting so common now days you'll have plenty to read up on if you decide to go that route.

Good luck with all the shipping side of things, hopefully these $4.30+ gas prices don't screw ya' too bad.

When you do the bed please post as many pics possible. My room mate wants to do a flatbed and I was digging the tool boxes and other things you were aluding to.

What am I saying your camera is as important to you (and us) as your spray gun.:D

I'm just contemplating whether to just detour the "Hmmm, what's Ryoken up to?" novel by adding/detouring this to it.. kinda like supersizes multi-project thread, or make it's own build thread... we'll see...

thanks for the interest guys.... with all the health issues the last 6 to 8 months, it's good to be motivated again to work on something... many things on this project will be new for me, so that's always fun.... contemplating a linked/bagged rear and a few other things.. I haven't forgotten the K5, and will get back to it, this just needs to be done...

yummmmm, tube order..... :woot: I have to remember to pick up an extra 10' to do the K5 back bumper too..

Guess all thats let to do is work on your jello mold art. Havent seen any new ones from you in a while.

Or find a woman/wife just cause everything in you life has fallen into place and now you could use some new distress.:haha:

:haha:

wait....

:haha:

I am kinda stoked to get back to work and pound some coin, just need to try and pace myself a bit...

no wife.. she'd make me sell the k5.... :doah: but I am getting the sheperd later in the summer... ya know, if i want love i'll get a dog, sex, I'll get a hooker! the upcoming pooch is what made me justify the CC! backseat all to him... :pimp:

Hell my wife made me buy the K5 and she's looking forward to cruising it. We at times have weird cr@p we do as a couple, she kinda hesitated about the K5 until she realized it was her birth year.

She also sold her 05 avalanch in order to keep and drive the 79 2wd suburban w/the original 8 track. After 2 yrs she says the only thing she really misses is the heated seats on cold Montana mornings.

So in order to tear down and work on the K5 I have three projects that began or have been planned prior to the blazer. Finish deck, done to 99% by tomarrow. Install dining room hardwood floor, have floor will be installed by mid april. Get 90 1 ton running and sell to have extra $$ for K5.

I think I got a good one!! The EX on the other hand....

and clean out that bedroom full of K5 parts....and make you watch Dancing with the Stars with her...:doah:

yeah, people laugh when they come over and see the spare bedroom is a parts warehouse... :haha:hopefully I'll just steal a couple items out of it for the CC and leave the majority intact..

and i can honestly say, that's a show I've never watched...

Oh and you know why you pay the hooker right?

To leave!

it's funny.... my sister is so high maintenance, and I have my BIL trained so well, that every time she's starts with the "we need a new blah, blah..." he'll just turn to me and go, " I know, I know, it's the price I pay for sex.."

quite humorous... :haha:

My sis is high maintanace but I have no pity for the BIL or care what he gets from her (I think he rents by the hour also). He is as high priced as her. Wouldn't know the diffrence between a lug nut and a lug wrench. No common ground with those 2, I go fishing when they come for the holidays. Best X-mas ever sitting on the ice this year. Even make the old man and his wife roll their eyes when they show up.

ah, i love my BIL to death.. we where actually high school buddies, than about 15 yrs later he met and married my sis.. and we really just kinda poke fun at my sis over it, she really had a tough time from 20 to 35, 1 really focked ex, one kinda focked x, and a troubled kid, before she met the current..

off to research link set ups....

I just read this. Congrats on the crew cab purchase! Looks pretty effing sweet!

thanks bro.. it's not as cool as yours is, but I hope to make it pretty fun in short order... I've ALWAYS wanted to do this CC/flatbed idea, just couldn't find the justification prior..
