In the truck now,,,TH 400 W/ 2200 rpm TCI stall convertor w/anti-balloning plate. Reverse pattern valve body. Competition shift kit. TCI deep cast pan.
Inline spin on filter w/autometer temp. gauge. Steel braided lines to bed mounted B&M plate tube cooler w/fan. B&M pro shifter

On the bench now,,TH475, modified pump,hardened input shaft,
low gear planetary,kevlar clutches,36 sprag clutch and drum,
plus all the above,,,

On the shop floor 465 w/ 205 case,

I am not sure what mine is. It is a 4 speed manual w/low as the first gear. I am guessing it is the 465? Is this a desireable tranny?

I do have a Dodge NV4500 variant sitting in my garage that needs a work over and hope to have it installed soon.

Your poll is actually giving misleading results at a quick glance because you have split the 700R-4 options as well as the other 'auto' options. A quick look makes it seem like the majority of guys are running SM465's... /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

TH400's (all) 19/116.....16.37%
TH350's (all) 26/116.....22.41%
700R-4's (all) 41/116....35.3%
All auto's 86/116....74.1%
SM 465's (all) 26/116....22.41%
NV4500's 0/116....0%
All manual's ....22.41%

That has nothing to do with choice, or even preference...GM installed the 700R-4 in 85% or more K5's from 83 on up.
