What's everybody running for a carb???

i ran a truck avenger 770 for like a year and a half and could never get it tuned rite , so i sent it back to holley and they sent me a brand new 670 (thougt the 770 was too big for my 383)...couldnt get the 670 tuned right either so its for sale in the classifiedes here....but other than me not being able to tune it, it ran good at all sorts of crazy angles ....so i took it off and put on a holley commander 950 EFI kit on it and couldnt get it to run rite either so its on ebay rite now CHEAP....it pissed me off so bad i pulled the motor tranny and t-case (all for sale in the classifides) and im puttin in a cummins!! NO TUNING NEEDED!!! all this to get rid of some off-idle stuble....

Yes. There was a noticable gain in performance climbing hills. When I dumped the truck on it's side I had to actually turn the key to shut it off.

I have a feeling you are talking about a different kind of wheeling than some of the people defending Q-jets here.

I have been around TONS of different carbs. I have never seen any carb (including the Holley truck avenger) run anywhere near as good as a quadrajet.

Holley makes good carbs, they just don't make any that run really well at angles.

It might help that I run the SM465 so that all I need to do is put it in a lower gear to keep the revs up and stay away from idle for the most part...
