i ran a truck avenger 770 for like a year and a half and could never get it tuned rite:doah: , so i sent it back to holley and they sent me a brand new 670  (thougt the 770 was too big for my 383)...couldnt get the 670 tuned right either:doah: so its for sale in the classifiedes here....but other than me not being able to tune it, it ran good at all sorts of crazy angles:D ....so i took it off and put on a holley commander 950 EFI kit on it and couldnt get it to run rite either  so its on ebay rite now CHEAP....it pissed me off so bad i pulled the motor tranny and t-case (all for sale in the classifides) and im puttin in a cummins!! NO TUNING NEEDED!!! all this to get rid of some off-idle stuble....:haha:

Yes. There was a noticable gain in performance climbing hills. When I dumped the truck on it's side I had to actually turn the key to shut it off.

I have a feeling you are talking about a different kind of wheeling than some of the people defending Q-jets here.

I have been around TONS of different carbs. I have never seen any carb (including the Holley truck avenger) run anywhere near as good as a quadrajet.

Holley makes good carbs, they just don't make any that run really well at angles.

It might help that I run the SM465 so that all I need to do is put it in a lower gear to keep the revs up and stay away from idle for the most part...
