TOO FUNNY! I had a similar thing happen at night... A new aerial observer with me on his first night flight stuck his head out the window of our CH-53E at about 140kts. His visors were ripped off his helmet, and the night vision goggles he had on were ripped off as well. We had just received our ANVIS-9 NVG's, and he had on a set. $13,000 out the window. Literally. Thankfully we were over water, because otherwise we would have been searching for them for a few days...
