I plan on going with afr 180s and a smog legal tq cam and desktop dyno says 430 hp and 461 ft lbs with tq curve like a ruler http://s89.photobucket.com/albums/k214/beastofablaze/?action=view&current=AFR_SBC2.jpg&refPage=&imgAnch=imgAnch1. I am kind of curious as to how fast we can get one of these chunks of iron to go in a 1/4 mile after hanging out on thirdgen.org since all they care about over there is 1/4 mile times.

Yeah Yeah I know its a truck it weighs 5000 lbs blah blah blah....

But what is your best 1/4 mile time if you have one.

Be kind of cool if we could blow off a stock thirdgen as well as run over it.:D

17.9 at 71 mph...40s kill top end accelleration

it was something like 11.7 @ 59 in the 1/8th tho...not great but not bad for a fairly stock 350 in a blazer on 40s...

Well, for giggles when I get it all installed, i'm going to run my K5 down the track. The motor thats going in came out of a drag camaro that would run low 9's. I'm going to try to find one of the simulators and plug in the hp, gears and weight and guess my quarter mile time. i don't care about beating a camaro or a stang but i do want to hand a ricer his a$$. just once. then i'll go back to the mud.

scroll down to the third one. pretty generic but should be good for a ballpark.
that thing ain't too far off. I put in 5200 lbs (not sure how much it weights in street/trail trim...had all my tools and crap in it at the time), 180 hp (should be close to my RWHP) and it was pretty close to what i ran a few months back.

pretty close

yup its pretty close. ran against a friend of mine (runs 13's) was about a sec behind him. i guess that puts me at mid to high 14's. the calc puts me at 14.8

Cool... I'm encouraged then, I liked the numbers it gave me.

13.5 for a 5500 pound truck with 430 hp? Don't stock zo6 vettes run like 13's I mean the older ones... I'd think it would be more like mid to low 14's once you add in the 35's. But I like those numbers... and oh yes I want to make a few ricers cry too.

Dont keep us waiting, What numbers did it give you?

It said 11.65 @ 5200lbs but I'll believe it when I see it. Even fudging it to mid 12's i still don't buy it. the new shelby cobra GT500 don't even run that.

I'm going to have a video done when I go just in case it surprises me and the cobra i'd be running against. Maybe i should just hold on the n2o kit i have... on the bottle it says i could do 11.1.

time will tell

damn man what kind of numbers are you making? I'm guessing your running a carb

The 496 I'm in the process of dropping in is supposed to be putting down a tad over 800hp and it has a 150 shot of juice on it now to boot. It's got a holley 4050 series on it now. peak power is at about 5k but it still respectable off idle. im not into the rock crawling (no rocks to crawl in FL anyway) so i went with something in the higher rpms to play in the sand and mud. kinda similar to drag racing so why not get a drag racing motor?

plus, i gotta do some burn outs to make branndon proud..

800HP? Got any specs on that 496?

got a build sheet somewhere. don't remember all the little specs like cam duration and all that. the biggies are balanced rotating assembly, forged everything, aluminum heads are fully cnc'd and port matched. 10.5:1 compression. lopey as hell tho.

i wanna be in the same league as Project Torque. :)

Better look for a different tranny to hold all power....

Or just give us pics of that split up the middle 700R4....

The 04-down z06's were a tad faster, I believe the quickest stock paper filter time I saw over on the ls1tech board was like 12.7 thereabouts. The new c6s are definitely breaking into 12s in stock form, and at the pinks show this past weekend there was a new c6z06 on a 100 shot and MickeyThompson et streets that ran consistant low 10 second passes all night long, was black on black to boot, that was a beautiful car. BTW if you manage to hook up on a track with all that power, not doubt you will break 11s. When you make it to the track, please take a vid of you smoking a vette or something cool like that.

I was going to swap in the built TH400 i have but i want to keep overdrive. I'm going to sell the 400 and use the $$ to build the 700. It's a newer 700 and with the right mods it'll handle the power.

there will be video made and posted whether i win, lose or break something. :D
